Help Time Zome Problem

It's gotta be a Verizon problem cause it happened to me last night. I was about 50 miles away from home, but nowhere near a time zone line and it switched from central to eastern. I waited till I got back home about 5 hours later and the zone was still wrong. So I unchecked Auto time zone. I just now turned Auto back on and it's fine this morning. I've had my SIII since the 6th.

Definitely a Verizon problem - my phone lost 4G for a bit and went to 3G, so I turned on the automatic sync for the time zone and it was fine...once 4G was back, the time was again off... though now instead of selecting the wrong timezone, it's just missing daylight savings (i.e. it's setting it to MST instead of MDT)... maybe they're working on the problem...

Hi all,

I am in Nova Scotia (Canada) Atlantic Time Zone. I went into my phone and manually updated (from Eastern / Ontario) to Atlantic (even though I had the "automatic update" selected)

It seems to be successful in the weather app... and the Splanner (finally - had my appts today showing up 1 hour later....)

My issue - is my LOCKSCREEN still shows one hour back... and it shows one hour back in the upper right hand corner of my screen.....

????

Must've been a Verizon tower issue :) Came back from a work trip and still had the auto sync of timezone enabled and it was the right time, has stayed working ever since. I did send Verizon a couple e-mails, though the first one told me how to disable the automatic feature (gee thanks, did you even read my e-mail?) - they then sent a survey form, so I tried again on that... not saying that's what got it fixed, just that I did happen to go through that process and mysteriously it got fixed shortly thereafter.

Hopefully everyone else is also fixed at this point!

Sorry guys, it's not a Verizon problem. I'm on Sprint. My phone started switching from central to eastern time zones on its own about a week ago. I asked Sprint customer service about it since I had them on the line for another issue and they said it must be a software thing because I thought it might be jumping towers. So I just have it set manually to central for now.

I guess I'm not convinced it's a software bug in the phone - I'm running cyanogenmod on my phone and continued to have the problem, but only in my hometown. Anywhere else in the country where I traveled, it worked fine. On 3G in my town, it was fine, only when on 4G in this town was it wrong... then one day it randomly starts working?

Now it is odd that other 4G phones don't have the same issue, but they may be pulling it in differently... All I know is the verizon support guy didn't know what they were talking about... and that now it works for me
