Factory reset will not solve the issue of battery life. I have tried that.Guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note, upgraded to ICS sometime last week and facing battery issues. No other issues with Swype or any other software, the phone works like a charm as long as it is charged. Off the power, and the whole thing lasts me about 4 hours.
I am not going to give up on ICS yet and am considering a factory reset - can anyone help me understand what will I lose by doing that? Files, music, pictures, apps I can back-up/download, but will I lose my contacts? That's the only thing that I am worried about since I cannot back that up since Kies does not work for me.
Thanks in anticipation of your help!
Best Regards,
Manik Dua.
(Did I say that ICS is amazing, as long as the battery issue is fixed?)

But in case you want to do factory reset then it will remove everything including your phone contacts. To back up your contacts, go to the contacts and open the options. You will see import/export. Export the contacts to the SD card. After factory reset, you can similarly import all your contacts from the SD card.
