If I was a Verizon Exec, would it make more sense for me to battle for the top spot on everyone's website/blog on day one and possibly be overshadowed by the EVO? Or would I let them have their day of glory and announce the Incredible(or whatever they decide to call it) the next day and have everyone talking about it the whole day?

Maybe they said that the EVO is a powerhouse, and since it has a little bit bigger screen that the Incredible wouldn't be in everyone's mouth.

I'm sad that it didn't happen today, but hopeful for tomorrow. Either way life goes on.

it's just very bewildering to everyone as to what the Verizon execs must be thinking right now

funny you say this, when i worked for verizon they didnt give a crap about anything but their next bonus and making sure their secretary was not included in the next layoff.. and why they couldnt figure out how to use their lotus notes email

What is the possibility that an announcement may come at a later time this week?

It could just be that Verizon doesn't want to share the stage and media attention with Sprint.
Problem is you've got the world's media gathered in one place at one time, why wouldn't you make a major announcement then when you have that large of a captive audience!? Why wait until everyone's back at their office in their day-to-day routine and you have no one present to even hold the phone, play with it, review and comment on it, as everyone is doing now with the Sprint EVO. It makes absolutely no sense from a marketing and sales standpoint.

If this were our company I'd expect to be unemployed today for having been outscooped so badly. This was a cluster-**** of gigantic proportions. "No one gives a rat's ass about Skype, Verizon! Don't you dufusses get it!!??"

The Verizon-branded Nexus One named the Incredible is announced to be available by the end of this month, according to Engadget.
According to the report, the HTC Incredible will feature a DRAM of 512MB on a Snapdragon CPU, an 8 megapixel camera and powered by 1,300 mAh battery.
The dimensions of the Incredible is almost identical with that of Google

OK, first of all, full credit goes to the guys behind FUUUU COMICS.

I borrowed some of their images to make this...

Oh yeah, no offense to Steven58, but we all know he is really excited about this phone! Lets hope this doesn't happen.

You guys have to remember, some of us have been drooling over a new HTC phone since the names Dragon and Passion were being thrown around. We've been though black friday, christmas, new years (remember the "I'm feeling lucky" countdown?), CES, MWC, and now CTIA. So I and others are truly feeling your pain!! But we are only one day into this thing. Let's all calm down and take a deep breath. If we don't hear anything by the end of CTIA you can find me at the insane asylum.

I'm not going anywhere guy! I'm here, i'm with you, it's not like like i want the phone any less than you (i started this thread while you were still mixing around in dad's scrotum...ok, that was really just thrown in for effect, lol), and it's not like i'm holding it right now laughing about how you don't have it! I invest a TON of my personal time (and money might I add) to support this community and thread and even given this gutch punch today i'm NOWHERE CLOSE to giving up, relenting, jumping ship, becoming negative, etc...

This is the time to truly show your devotion to this community and our shared common interests by lifting people up and keeping the attitude positive and forward-looking.

Now pardon me while i got back to doing what i was doing before i took time out to post this, which is chasing people down who were/are at the conference and trying to figure out what happened.
Thanks Anonimac, I want to add something, (This is not directed towards you Anon) But Everyone who's a fan of the Incredible threads. In the past we've lost several forums because of off topic postings, and excessive postings. Please Be disciplined with how you express your critical, or ignorant thoughts. Sometimes Less is more, and Put a thank you on someone's post. By posting excessive posts you're not directly biting the hand that feeds you, but the frustration we're feeling now, and the energy it takes to read through all of the pages is a catalyst, and a catalyst for I don't know what. Please, I'm asking nicely, have the common courtesy to just Click the "Thanks button" without re-quoting over and over unimportant, and sometimes unrelated posts. Take it easy:cool:

With today's multitude of thoughts and emotions ranging from euphoria to rage to jealousy to resigned indifference, one finally came which offered a certain degree of comfort. I decided to interject so that others may similarly benefit.

How will it feel when I have my Incredible in hand BEFORE the Evo announced today is in the hands of my Sprint-minded buddies "sometime this summer"?

Par for the course with Verizon. Don't know why anyone would be surprised. Maybe they'll announce tomorrow or Thursday, but make no mistake about it, the Incredible (or whatever they choose to call it) just got upstaged by Sprint and the EVO. I mean, I'll probably still get the incredible but it just lost a little luster. Hope the specs pan out. If it was coming sooner, I might consider the EVO. Confirmed 720p recording and same 8MP camera with larger display AND front facing camera? At least we get AMOLED, as difficult as it might be to see in daylight. Oh well. I will drop dead the day Verizon announces any phone as early as Sprint does.
