Shipping date speculation

Ugh, you would think that most people have at least sent a package before.:D
Just because UPS has "received" package details, does not in any way, mean that UPS has your package.
How this shipping mess works
-Customer places order
-Vender packs order, prints shipping label with address for the shipping carrier (The carrier has now "received" shipping info, but not your package. If Google tells you otherwise, they're lying)
-Shipping carrier comes and picks up package from the vender with a truck or it may be transported to a local shipping depot by the vender. ONLY AT THIS POINT does UPS have your package where it may or may not be scanned.

OH, I also ordered on the 6th, and have yet to get any changes in billing, or wallet. But I'm being patient

Ordered on June 27th. ups has delivery schedule for tomorrow the 17th.
Here's the interesting thing. It showed 7/11 ready for ups, order processed on UPS' site. Of course we're thinking thats not necessarily the date ups gets the package and delivers.
But between 7/11 and 7/16 there were zero updates on the UPS site. it went from
7/11 ready to 7/16 this afternoon in Kentucky.

What happened to everything in the middle? Something had to have happened. So who's at fault there? 14th and 15th were weekends so I wouldn't expect much there in the way of update. But normally I see pick up status, at the initial delivery location etc.

And also, some of you poor dudes with no confirmation could it be that your credit card charge is having issues? I assume thats not the case since it seems google did a pre charge on everyone's card to make sure it would go through. Lets hope for your sake that there is just no communication to you but your shipment is also on its way like everybody else.

It showed 7/11 ready for ups...

I think it is pretty clear that google got carried away in there somewhere and started doing the label processing on Wednesday, then for some reason or other they didn't actually get shipped till Friday.

And then, apparently, UPS didn't scan anything till the packaged actually made it to their central processing center in KY on Monday.

The UPS shipping guide says 2day shipping on Friday should result in delivery on Tuesday, so that part seems consistent with the shipping actually having happened on Friday.

Ordered June 27th. Beyond initial confirmation, I've gotten exactly jack squat.

I'm not really angry, just annoyed at the lack of information. If they told me it was delayed for one reason or another, I'd curse like a sailor for a few minutes, get over it, then get on with finding a company who will sell me one. With no info, I just sit here like a goof hitting F5 on GMail and Google Wallet.

Well, that's not all I'm doing but I'm doing it frequently. So there! ;)

Thank you for contacting Google.

Unfortunately I do not have information available about when the retailers
are receiving and selling their devices, but I do apologize for your
frustration with this and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Your order is ready to go out and by Monday the 16 your tracking number #
alsdjf;aklksdfljas will be active and you can track your shipment as it
nears you.

It was my pleasure assisting you today. If there is anything further we
can assist you with, please feel free to reply directly to this email or
visit our help center at

So I got this 1st thing today from the Googleplex themselves.

My card was charged on the 11th and 12th, they just shipped it out today! My case was noted as shipped on the 11th, and will be delivered tomorrow the 17th. So even given the weekend, it will have taken 4 buisness days to get here. I WILL be asking for shipping refunds or some sort of "throw me a bone" credits at the Play Store.

However it pans out, I will have to think long about ordering ANY HARDWARE from the play store in the future.

It's all about how you treat your customers - especially the "Fanboy" population. Apple would be falling all over itself to apologize for mistakes on THEIR part!

Not a happy camper, as I could have picked one up for $30 less from Sam's over the weekend!

So I got home from work tonight and I'm out walking the dog in the woods behind my house when lo and behold a UPS truck ulls in the yard. Driver hops out of the truck with an appropriately sized box for my two N7s so I drag the dog mid-pee out of the woods to greet him and accept the package.

Turns out it was something my wife ordered in my name. Damn her, now she is teasing me too.

ROFLMFAO......sorry, but OMG. I think that was my biggest laugh this whole thread. I was actually getting excited for you. Not laughing at you mind you.....but, but  OMG. Bless your heart.

Mine is 3 hours away. Sighhhhh. Ordered mine on july 2nd. I did get a confirmation e-mail the day I ordered it. Then, got follow up emails that something was wrong with my credit card information. I had 7 days to correct or my order would be canceled. I had to correct it twice! I also saw a pending charge come and go a couple of times in that time frame.

For those that haven't heard anything......did you ever have a hold or pending charge on your credit card? That's how they knew if the funds were going to be there. If I go to my google wallet and click on my online purchase....it expands all the information...order date, attempt to charge my card X2, and date shipping label was made (including shipping label)

Original notice was that mine was going to ship on the 11th.....then it said "delayed." Since then, though it was ordered on the 30th, I've gotten no shipping email....nothing. At this point, I've resigned myself to the fact that Google has scammed me and gotten me for $200 and that I probably will never see the tablet. I've decided to just content myself with the Kindle Fire and chalk up the $200 loss as a lesson learned.

Almeda, Go ahead and specify who and what you're talking about. No one can read your mind.

Seems like spam to me.

Yep, it was one of cammykool's posts from right near the start of the thread, but with added spam links.

I think he's aloud to be dramatic given the fact that Google hasn't give ANY notification or communication as to when most will receive their tablets. Not to mention the fact that Many pre-ordered on the notion that they'd probably get them relatively fast and before it was available in retail. Google owes many an explanation and some sort of credit for their sloppy handling of the situation.

If you preordered, google owes you a Nexus 7 in mid July. Sh*t happens. Granted, I would like mine yesterday and not tomorrow, but everything google said/not said has been spot on.

Is it mid July? yes
Are the tablets shipping? yes
Did they say all pre-orders will be in the hand of pre-order customers before anyone else? no
Have we all dealt with UPS before and should we realize the information on their site is not always exact and up to the minute? yes
Will is make through this? yes, because we have a forum in which to act irrationally
