Forgive me if this has been discussed somewhere that I didn't see. Are there any rom's out there that can be flashed over the new ICS ota? Just looking to switch it up a bit on my Razr.

The list at the top of the pages is confusing as to whether those are roms for ICS, or Gingerbread roms that update you to ICS. Any help would be appreciated.

I prefer this one:

[Rom] Eclipse Razr Ics V1.1 - (6/27/12) - DroidRzr.com

In my opinion the smoothest running ROM. From what I read a lot of other ROMs stole code from this ROM. Everything is inverted and has original google AOSP stuff like gallery, browser, MMS, etc. Lots of bloat removed. Couldn't be happier. No issues what so ever.

I'm considering rooting with this rom and I already have ICS installed.

Can I root with Eclipse without flashing? Someone said that ICS has a rooting software built in? Did I understand this correctly?

I'm not really understanding your question. If you flash the ROM you have to be rooted because it requires safestrap to install. The ROM itself is already rooted once installed. Most ROMs are. If you just want to root your phone I suggest using this tool:

Droid Razr Utility 1.81 [Windows] For Verizon Droid Razr/maxx Only! - DroidRzr.com

It doesn't flash anything but just roots your phone.

How do I install the razrUtility? Do I just put both this file and the ROM onto my phone's internal memory or SD Memory? Restart the phone into the option menu?

I haven't rooted my phone since my Eris.

1. Fastboot Restore 6.16.211 (ICS 4.0.4 Official OTA Software). Put the phone into AP Fastboot mode and run the option. (Power the phone on with holding both volume buttons + power button.)

2. Ice Cream Sandwich Root 4.0.4. This root exploit by the awesome Dan Rosenberg roots our ICS 4.0.4. Have your phone plugged in with USB Debugging enabled and the USB Mode set to MTP or Camera. (If Devices still not found, please factory reset your phone for the root to work, this is of course if installing the drivers did not work).

3. Install Voodoo's OTA Rootkeeper App. With the phone booted and on USB Debugging enabled (not USB Mode Mass Storage as well), this will install the app.

4. Install Bootstrap Recovery App (ICS version). With the phone booted and on USB Debugging enabled (not USB Mode Mass Storage as well), this will install the app.

5. Install Safestrap Recovery App (ICS version). With the phone booted and on USB Debugging enabled (not USB Mode Mass Storage as well), this will install the app.

6. Flash 6.16.211 boot img (official kernel). Put the phone into AP Fastboot mode and run the option. (Power the phone on with holding both volume buttons + power button.) [This option is to undo Option 7]

7. Flash 6.16.214 boot.img (leaked kernel). Put the phone into AP Fastboot mode and run the option. (Power the phone on with holding both volume buttons + power button.)
