Ok, so my first LTEvo from Best Buy had 2 decent sized pinks dots that looked like someone dropped a pin-size amount of coloring on the inside of the screen. I took it back and exchanged it for a new one. Now the new one has this nice clean line down the middle of the upper part of the screen that looks like dead pixels. What is up with these screens?

I haven't heard of it being a major issue.

No dead pixels here, though the first unit shipped from Amazon did arrive damaged and had to be replaced. With any LCD screen, dead pixels can happen. I've had them on monitors I've purchased, seen them on friends TV's and several phones. Every manufacturer has a tolerance for dead pixels and it's not 0, which is/should be the consumers tolerance. Personally, there is no way I would accept a screen with even one dead or flipped pixel. I know that even if it had no effect on the devices function, its presence would eat at me and ruin my overall enjoyment.

I dont have any but my buddy at work has two..(dead pixels)

Update: my friend at work now has a weird line on his screen only when the screen is white.. Maybe the lcd is cracked? He swears he didn't drop the phone. He doesn't use a case and he probably did drop it lol.. But hey with no case and no screen protector I have to say the phone looks pretty good. If anyone can destroy a phone its him. Haha

If the pixels get stuck, an app that quickly flashes between colors has been known to help sometimes.

It it becomes a recurring problem, I'd consider getting it replaced. If you're rooted, keep in mind best buy will replace the whole device, so there's no knowing what boot you'll get

Thanks!

Do you know the name of that app by any chance?

Are these stuck pixels or something else? Yesterday I put a screen guard on and shortly after I noticed this line. I didn't drop the phone and it's different colors depending on the color of the background. I've tried a couple of the dead pixel apps and nothing. TIA.

This is my 2nd Evo 4g LTE,( the first one had a defective digitizer/logic board), and i noticed it had 2 very small white/red/blue/green dots whenever i watched a video with letterbox, or any video. They flash different colors depending on the color of the screen, for example if my screen is mostly black the dot would be white, if the screen is a bunch of different colors the dot would be red, green, or blue. I tried rebooting, flashing new roms, and even going back to stock android, still nothing. I ran one of those stuck pixel apps for around 2 hours and one of the stuck pixels at the top of my screen is mostly gone, but the the one in the left middle is pretty persistant and never seems to leave. I assume they are stuck pixels because they change colors, flash, and only show up on videos, some apps, and my camera. If anyone has had any experience with stuck pixels on their phone or have even got rid of some, any tips would be much appreciated. it isnt too big of a problem to where i need to replace the phone AGAIN, but it just ruins movies/videos for me and is very annoying. THANKS!:)

My phone just started making black lines like across the bottom like dead pixels. I have no idea why, it was fine this morning. Also persists resets and even bootloader screens, so I'm pretty sure its hardware.

Do you have TEP? Do they just swap the phone no questions asked when this happens? I'm wary of bringing it in only to find out I'll have to pay for a screen replacement I could probably do myself with some parts on ebay.
