Who here is Yakju still on 4.04?

I got the notification for JB last week on my phone and after the dl and install, I got a message that one of my apps (Volume+) did not open. I clicked ok and noticed that I still had version 4.04. I uninstalled the app and I checked and waited, cleared the GSF, and still not notification. This was 4 or 5 days ago!

Any suggestions on what to do?

fist clear cache from google partner setup and google services framework. then in dial pad just type *#*#2432546#*#* ( DO NOT DIAL THIS NUMBER) and wait for 10 seconds.
go to system update and your JB update is there .
if not try this procces after 30 min
this is only for YAKJU and TAKJU only.
enjoy and have nice day

Thanks, I will try it today, but I think I have a different issue. Last night before I got this message, my phone once again, told me the jelly bean was available. It went through the process and when the phone restarted, I still had 4.04.
If your idea does not work, I will try a wipe.

Me too - yakjuxw (UK) and still no update, even after steps provided by khushal234.

Ditto! :-\

yakjuxw is not yakju. Important difference: yakju and takju are builds that get updates sent out directly from google whereas yakjuxw or any other suffix you have to wait for Samsung to release the update and I don't know how long they'll make you wait.

Darty I'm a complete noob when it comes to flashing/rooting. Been on android since g1 days but never had the balls!

Was it easy?

I am a complete noob as well! It was easy enough after some reading.

The way I did it was by using this guide: Guide to Update Samsung Galaxy Nexus (YAKJUXW) to Android 4.0.4 and Get future Updates from Google
I made sure to read everything and follow the steps closely. This method uses Wug's galaxy nexus toolkit (which is designed to help noobs like us).

You don't have to root your phone, but you will have to unlock it, which requires a data wipe (there's instructions for backing up your apps + app data, plus you should manually backup your media to computer) but the short term inconvience of arranging your home screens and reloading stuff again is well worth the long term benefit of direct updates from google in my opinion!

Wow, this certainly worked in getting the update to come to my phone, but still no update for me. I starts, I get the robot with the neclear thing going on in it's chest, then he gets a red triangle with an exclamation mark and then boots back to 4.04

I guess I gotta wipe

OK, I finally got my Gnex to upgrade.
I kept getting the red triangle with an exclamation mark in the chest of my little droid when I tried to update, then it would boot back to 4.0.4.
After trying all kinds of crap I used the the GNex toolkit to flash the factory 4.04 to my phone
I then set up my WiFi and in came the upgrade. Only this time it installed.

So ends 5 days of shit! and now to rebuild my apps.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info!

Tried it but i had an error. When it came to detecting the device in the device manager it just came up as "unknown". I couldn't progress any further after that and hit a brick wall.

I think it may be because i didn't uninstall any previous drivers. May try again later
