It's so darn big

Coming over from Thunderbolt. I didn't think transitioning from the phone was a big deal, but going back to the TB was like WOW. I love the size of the phone. Its not really that big. Although, with most critiques they could have easily made the phone a quarter or so inch smaller length-wise. Maybe next year.

Look at it this way, it is big enough to actually be functional. I came from a DX and even that was just a bit too small not to be annoying. Yeah it's big, but it is much more of a "daily driver" than anything else. Typing and voice recognition are better than anywhere else. I haven't touched a computer at home since I got it. The stock OS has flash, I don't think Jelly Bean does. I need flash. I run my slingbox 1080p through it HDMI to my TV and not the slightest glitch or lag. I can run old N64 ROMS on this seamlessly. Welcome to Batman onlive direct to my big screen with my PS3 controller. Chorme freakin rocks! All day battery with good use. Wireless charging coming in a couple of months. 100 gigs of storage +50 GB dropbox (thanks Beans). THERE ARE ONLY 2 OPTIONS, BUY THIS PHONE, OR PREORDER THE DEVELOPER EDITION!

P.S. the HDMI adapter is a must, I'm sure you hear the legends of the camera on this, but the HDMI all time out is the difference maker here.

I'm about to replace my Incredible. I'm concerned about the size of the S3.

Anybody else move from a smaller phone to the S3? What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks

I like you, came over from an incredible. It's big and was a little hard to get use to. I've had it for a week and I would never go back. I was on my wife's 4s and it's like a toy compared to my s3. I love it.

Still trying to figure out why they didn't put an hdmi out on the thing. I love the phone don't get me wrong but I had a DX I got the day it hit the market over 2 years ago and it had the hdmi out. What are you using to convert? TIA

Most of the new phones don't have a hdmi port. Somehow they combined it with the charging port.

This is the accessory from Samsung that converts it to hdmi for you.

I came from the Verizon iPhone 4s 64gb and yes, this phone is massive. I didn't like the size before i was ordering it or during my first week with it. I'm sure i will get used to it as with most things.

But having a phone with a 28nm CPU, 2gb of ram, tons of space and works with my unlimited LTE Verizon plan is MUCH, MUCH more important to me than just how big it is. So i will be keeping it. Sure if i could have this exact phone in a 4" screen i would LOVE it. But i'm happy to be streaming unlimited amazingly fast Verizon LTE all evening long at home. :)

I will say i have very small hands for a dude and still with no case i find it fits fairly comfortably in hand. I read my Bible on it a lot and i'm very comfortable for long stretches. Sure, I can't use my left thumb to tap something in the top right corner, but then i just use my right hand. 95% of my phone use doesn't require the opposite far corner reach.

I have a Rock Quicksand Dark Grey case for it that fits perfect and feels nice but even that 1mm extra thickness makes it just a bit more hard to hold which matters since i have "girl" hands. So i took it off :) I also didn't want it to overheat more with a case trapping it like that.
