Help Do I have ICS Android 4.0?

What is the difference between ICS and 2.3.4. My phone says it has Android 4.0.3 but a friend who has a droid has 2.3.4 and the screen looks the same as mine. is it possible even though mine says its ICS that its really 2.3.4?? Is there a way to tell for sure? I know there were some issues with the Sprint branded phones and I bought mine at Best Buy and it is the plum with the Sprint logo on it. My 30 days is almost up so if I don't have ICS I want to take it back to Best Buy...thanks everyone!!

It says I have it like I said but why does everything look the same as 2.3.4? Usually when the Android version changes you see differences in the way screen looks, etc. Is there any website that shows screen shots of ICS so I can compare what mine is? I hope I'm making sense lol. I just want to make sure before my 30 day limit runs out

The whole point of Android is that you can make it look like anything that you want. Your buddy might be running a launcher that has the ICS lock screen. Android from one generation to the next is more evolutionary than revolutionary. If you're new to Android Eclair looks alot like ICS, trust me if your phone says that it's running 4.0.3 then you have ICS on board. Also as I stated Sense 3.6 only came on phones upgraded to ICS so you have another way of verifying. You can't go by visual cues because they can be easily emulated with custom roms or apps on any version. And finally your not running ICS, you're running Sense 3.6 on top of ICS, which is way different visually.
