Tired of usual way of sending sms? wanna experience some thing different in sms sending? S3 has some interesting features. There is youtube video showing how to do this and you can find the link at the end of article
There are many ways other than typing individual alphabets. Let

Another tips is sending your location via sms. When sms is open--> press menu and select add text. another menu appears with different options--> select location--> google maps appears where you can select your location and send via sms

If one wants to change the look of messages display, it can also be done. Normally messages appear with yellow and blue boxes or bubbles with dark background. It can be changed by opening messages and then going into settings then clicking on bubbles and backgoround options

I cant figure out the handwriting option in SMS I dont have any option that says handwriting. just call, add subject, smile face ect.....

Never mind. I am using the jellybean keyboard had to change to samsung. I need a pen for it. its useless with your finger.

In sms when keyboard appears, click on setting icon, keep it pressed and then 4 icons appear, select icon with shape of pen and thats it. I agree hand writing works better with stylus however you don't need to have expensive stylus, you can make one at home

Ya I got it but its only available in the Samsung keyboard, not jellybean. Had to change keyboards.

In addition to samsung inbuilt swype( also called continuous input) another dedicated application is available .Beta swype is even better but there is process of registration for the download as it is not available download from google play. One has to go site and download from there

I'm on Verizon and do not have the "select location" option. Does some other option have to be turned on first? Or is this yet another Verizon customer penalty, errrr feature?

However I can send my location from Google Maps by touching my location and then touching the popup box.

you mean that when you select add text, you are not given different options including location?

Basically swipe beta is more of typing application, not sms dedicated application like handcent sms etc. Sending location is one prominent feature of handcent sms which is deeply buried in samsung stock application

I'm hvaing an issue with sending a text to multiple contacts. It sends it to everyone and appears as a group text on my phone, but to the receiving contacts it appears as a private message and not a group text. So when they reply it is just to me and does not file into the same message thread. which makes it really confussing and hard to communicate to multiple people

I have tried Handcent SMS and Go SMS, which solve the group texting and allow all reply issue, but I just don't like either of them as much as I do the stock texting service.

There has got to be a way to correct this on the stock version for the life of me I haven't found any option to do so.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I like Jellybean better than the Samsung keyboard. I feel like it types better. Anyone know if you can get notification on the SMS icon of the number of messages?

In ICS yes but no idea regarding jellybeans
