Help Possible issues with handcent????

I have been using handcent since i got my moment in december. I think its the best messaging app out there. I do have a few bugs with it though and im curious to know if anyone else has this issue with their moment.

1. sometimes when i send a message using quick reply i will immediately put the phone to sleep then when i look at my phone 5 minutes later it finally says quick reply sent. Im wondering if my messages are really waiting for the phone to wake up before sending the message.

2. when i reply to a message in the messaging app and put my phone to sleep sometimes (not always) the home, menu, back, send, and end key will stay lit until i press the end button which will wake the phone back up. I noticed using spare parts that handcent is also using alot of partial wake usage. Usually over 3 hours be the end of the day. Is this killing my battery?

3. It also takes much longer to send pictures and music clips using handcent compared to the default messaging app. and I also noticed i get alot of unsent messages using handcent.

Other than those problems I love handcent. im just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues.

I am on handcent right now. Was a former chompsms user until the mms images didnt function right.

#3. Did you remember to add the area code within your contacts? If I send a text without the area code, I will get a "404" message not sent error but it is quickly resolved when I edit the area code to my contacts.

Thanks for the reply but yes I make sure I add the area code. When the message doesn't send it just continues to show the round yellow thing then says cannot deliever or something like that

I notice that the Home, Menu, Back buttons light up when receiving and sending msgs. Anytime these three light up and the phone goes sluggish, the HandcentSMS notification pops up a few seconds later. For your questions:

1. Check "Sent message notifications". I've it disabled.

2. See if this helps: Update PRL. The current one is 60662

1. it is disabled i just doubled checked.
2. My PRL is 60662

I also notice that those buttons light up before a message comes through. but sometimes mine stay on until i hit the end button

I did a test and sent the same pic thru the stock messaging app and it took 7 seconds to send i then sent the same pic to the same person using handcent and it took over 35 seconds. thats crazy.

I have HandcentSMS ver 2.9.33. Have you tried Settings > Applications > Manage applications, clear cache for notorious apps Browser, Market? Finally, power off/on.

I just tried all that and the same thing. I tried chomp just now and it sent a pic in 7 seconds compared to 30+ with hancent

Now with Chomp lets see if you can receive a pic at all. Myself and others have had many problems lately with chomp and the MMS.

did have a problem with receiving a pic with chomp so i uninstalled and now using handcent again. I guess ill just have to deal wtih these issues.
