Hi can anyone tell me how you were supposed to switch folders after the ice cream sandwich update I used to be able to push and hold on in box and it would pull up the other folders and let me switch now I have to hit menu and then go into folders and then I have to choose the other folder I'm looking for this is very laborious is there a solution that allows you to quickly switch between folders.

I tried posting in another thread but after 1 month nobody has helped me.before ics I would push on folder button at top example inbox, sent etc.now if I push it it simply shows account name or something called combined view.
No folder switching.any solution?
I am tired of hitting extra steps for simple flipping between folders.:(

Shark,

I'm having the same problem you're having...only worse. I'm unable to switch folders at all after the ICS update to my AT&T Galaxy S2. If I try your trick with hitting the menu button and then selecting folders, it only gives me these folders to choose from:
  1. Inbox
  2. Drafts
  3. Outbox
  4. Sent
  5. Trash
  6. Junk Email
  7. News Feed
  8. RSS Feeds
That doesn't really help me much since all my folders (~100) are subfolders of Inbox, and there seems to be no way to expand Inbox. Likewise, as you said, pressing the Inbox folder button at the top of the screen doesn't help, because it only allows you to switch between Inbox and Combined view which is useless.

In my case, my email server is the Exchange server at the company where I work.

I just found the solution in another thread. You need to hit Menu -> Folders which lists the top-level folders, in particular "Inbox". Then in order to see the subfolders of Inbox, you need to click on the folder ICON to the left of the work Inbox. Do not click on the word Inbox, since that will just cause Galaxy to display the email in your Inbox folder. However, clicking on the folder icons allows you to navigate through the email subfolders.

Note: This does not solve the efficiency issue sharkhark is trying to solve in the original post. This only elaborates on how to get into the subfolders via the menu button.
