Shipping date speculation

I had the email a couple of days ago saying the my order date bracket will be delivered to the UK next week. I'll hold them to that!

Damn i slept till 11am today... was planing on going to staples first thing in the morning. Went there afternoon they all sold out. They have one in stock but it's open box 16gb with 5% discount. Should i get one? maybe i could i ask for 10% that would be a nice deal

Called back today. Said it was wrong for them to have told me yesterday that I'd get a callback, that all they do is send emails, so I should just be waiting for an email in the next day or two...

I wonder if I buy the right 32GB flash package if I can just remove the 16GB one and solder the new one on and have it work?

Considering how many problems the Nexus 7 have experienced I don't think it is smart to do it. You better ask what is the warranty at the store and also check if you can get the $25 dollar credit.

I've decided not to buy it but i've been told i can always return it for a full refund. It wasn't listed in the stock and guy took it out of his office i guess he is a store manager. Well whatever :rolleyes:

i'm gonna wait till they have those in stock at staples because might return dont want to deal with whole shipping hassle

The latest on availability:

GameStop – 16GB Nexus 7 is backordered. The company waits for a third allotment of pre-orders to ship in August. [I've been told by two stores in my local (Hampton Roads, VA) that they received their first order only to have Google call them back and they don't know when their next shipment will arrive. They've also been told to stop promoting sales of the product temporarily.]
B&H – online orders accepted, but the store only has limited Nexus 7 stock.
Office Depot – 8GB version listed as “coming soon” while the 16GB model is “out of stock.”
Staples – 16GB version available in stores only. [One local Staples says they'll receive 5-7 on Monday and they'll be on shelves Tuesday.]
Kmart – selling only the 16GB version, which is currently “out of stock.” [Is Kmart still alive??]
MobileCity – takes pre-orders for the 16GB version, but does not provide shipping dates.
Sam’s Club – does not take pre-orders: “this item is out of stock for delivery.” [My local Sam's has no idea when their order for 5-7 GN7 will come in. I've been checking every day this week, same answer every time.]
Curry PC World Store – Nexus 7 is sold out at this UK retailer.

I called again about my preorder on the 27th. It is still lost, they still agree my case is the weirdest thing they've seen all day, and it is still escalated to the higher tier shipping support. They promise they will get back to me in 48 hours... they promised that on Friday too (and they work over the weekend). I'm probably not getting mine for a week at least.

hmmm and here it is, monday now and i still have no shipping confirmation and i havent been charged...I call asking where my order is, try very hard and manage to be polite, get told it should be there and she would look into it...get home, still no tablet, call back asking what is going on, still managing to be polite, guy comes back "it hasnt shipped yet, the problem is that it timed out when it was charged so it had to go to a backup system and its finalizing that now." that would be fine and acceptable and all, but then i asked him why it is that i was told it was already shipped at 2:45 on friday and that i would have it today. so i talk to the manager at the help desk at the time, get told that i should hear something back by the end of the week about when it will arrive. ....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................really? this is how the customer service is...? i dont like the ipad and all...but still lol it cant be worse then this. does anyone here have a different number that might actually be helpful?

Ordered on the 11th, Google canceled my order based on their computer misread my shipping address and declared it undeliverable. Reordered on the 12th with shipping information the same but redone so shipping computers would accept it. On 16th or 17th they said that all orders in by the 11th would be shipped that week. I called and talked to 3 people (twice escalated) for 1.5 hours to ship mine with the 7/11 batch. THEY DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still waiting...

They probably put a comment on my account and will never ship one to me.

I guess the people who have not already received their preorders are going to have a hard time, me included. I ordered mine on July 4th and still nothing. No charge and no shipping. I called today and I was told that it was weird how my order hasn't been shipped and that they would escalate my case to a supervisor. I'm not holding my breath though for a reply. I guess all I can do is wait, but damn...this is frustrating.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered on the 13th and no notice or charge yet.

My aggravation so far is really just around how they set expectations. When I ordered it said 1-2 weeks, which I understood given the demand. But around the middle of last week, my order list in Play suddenly showed a date of 7/20, even though Wallet just showed the original order. So I've been checking since Friday hoping for some good news and getting nothing. If they had just communicated the original schedule, I would have been fine. Assuming it actually shows up this week, of course.

I ordered two of the Nexus 7 16g tablets, the first one I ordered was from Game Stop. I asked when they would be getting them in stock and the person I asked had no idea, I called back the next day and asked and was told some time in November. I decided I wasn't going to wait that long and ordered another from Google Play. I called GS the day after and told them I lost my receipt and the kid remembered me from the day before and said that they got an e mail from google saying they would have more august 7th. So I decided not to cancel that order and give that tablet to my sister. I ordered the one from the google play store on the 18th and was worried about the thread I read about google delaying shipments so I called google and they said that anyone that ordered last week should be getting their tablet in 3 to 4 weeks.

I hope this helps a few people out wondering about the dates for GS.

Just got back in from Gamestop. The date has changed from August 7th to September 30th apparently. While that sucks, nothing I can do about it but wait. Good on Google though. This means more goodies in the future.

Well, I looked online, and my local Staples has the 16GB in stock. Since im not sure when Google will ship the two 8gb's, I may just grab two 16gb's from Staples.

Anyone have any luck voiding an order before it has shipped? Did you call Google directly?
