I initially did a factory reset just to be safe, with each update I just wipe dalvik and cache then just flash. I'm currently running Francos kernel -223 - 384Mhz.

Yeah you just flash it. It's a clean flash though. I used it 3 times this morning and aside from using the wrong gapps, all was well. It's working perfectly now.

Thanks. I was a little worried about the colors. I usually use jorte but since I've been flashing, I haven't really looked at the calendar.

Funny you ask. Franco r223 is a smoother experience for me (I know how can it get any smoother right) but the stock kernel has better battery life by a smidgen and runs cooler at the same freq. I like custom colors and gamma so prefer Franco. You'll just have to test and see what your phone prefers

Flashed 4.0 last night and been running it since then, my first flash into XenonHD and I will have to say sweet little ROM. You can customize it

Very fast and stable and I got DSP Manager back...sweet again!

Now the circle battery is included :smokingsomb: and I really like Apex Launcher now that it has backup and restore. That was the biggest feature I liked in Nova Launcher. Overall, great ROM!

Note: I love the boot animation on this ROM.

On the newest build I can't get Google Now to text anyone, it always comes up as "all people" rather than the person I want. When I say "text Jamie, how is your day going" it comes up "all people" as a result rather than the text message.

Edit: It seems to be the word "how", any phrase starting with a word other than "how" seems to work fine. Just starting with the word "so" gets the same text to come up fine.

The GN screens are so drastically different (sister has one and a good friend as well) that my settings might look horrible on yours

I like warm colors. I'm a photography enthusiast and have color calibrated IPS monitors. TV as well!

I use multipliers R215, G190, B205 with the gammas all 0. Omap4 gamma at 1.2 and trinity contrast -4. I also disable content adaptive brightness for truer brighter whites but at a small cost in battery life.

Found a little bug in this ROM. When I go to Settings > Language and Input and turn off the Google Voice Typing (hate that darn microphone on the bottom of the keyboard), it works for like 5 minutes but then it turns itself back on.

thank you for the mods but I can't seem to get the jb boot animation to flash right. Keep getting installation aborted and the android guy falls on his back with a red arrow on his chest. This is in CWM.

The boot animation isn't flashed you replace the old in root explorer.

Paste in into System/media

Be sure to rename the original one bootanimation.zip.bak if you want to keep it.

Note that whichever is labeled "bootanimation.zip" is what will play when booting up

If you copy it to data\local, it'll still be there the next time you update.

You'll also have to rename it to bootanimation.zip

Just flashed Franco's r223 and was wondering...do we have anything like Quick Overclock that will work on the GNex? I like that app in that it would find your min and max cpu speeds. Be nice to have something like that so we would know exactly what we could set overclocking and undervolting to.

I clean flashed this rom from vicious jelly bean (which was pretty good but basic). It has been great so far but i have 2 questions about it.
1. My setcpu max setting in rom toolbox cant go beyond 1200. Is this because of kernel? How can I fix this?
2. Wifi tethering has not been able to work. It didnt work on previous rom and doesnt work now. How can that be fixed? (ive tried native tethering - which cant connect - as well as the apps wifi tether, foxfi, and barnacle - these 3 apps all either wont start or cant even be found by my laptop)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Made the jump yesterday from Xenon 4.0 to aokp build 4. Its as buttery, if not more. Excellent battery life. No bugs that i know of. More customization. Cheers
