Good evening all,
new here so please go easy on me :)

I have the desire HD - bought second hand. It seems a great phone BUT

1 - The Language and Keyboard section under settings has the language as "English (Germany)" - I live in England and just need English.
It was unlocked when I bought it but was originally T-Mobile. When I flick round from the main start screen I come to a bookmarks screen - they all seem to be german sites. Is there a way to change this?

2 - Using the tool GPS status, shows no satellites. So, if I go to google maps (or other) my location can be upto a couple of km away (and every now and again within 30m). I took the phone to bits the other day to have a look if the antenna leads had come detached - really wish I hadn't but anyway, they haven't. Detached them to make sure then reatached them - took ages but still the same. Could the first problem be a cause of the second one.

Thanks in advance for any help - please, please if you are explaining anything, assume I know nothing (and you won't be far wrong) and give it me step by step please.

Thanks again

Dave

Hi :) Sorry for the late reply to your question!

Are there any other languages available in the settings? I have heard of people who have the same issue, in that there is only one language in the settings. I'm not sure how well this works, but this app will change the default language.

If you go to settings > about phone, what software version and build number does it display?

I wonder if my phone was bought in Germany - it seems to go to .de websites sometimes. Is there a home location setting somewhere where this might be the case?

I think you need to go into the browser, and then menu > settings, and in there is the option to change the home page, and some other settings too (I don't have the phone anymore so I can't remember exactly where it is)
