Maybe it's me, but I find it extremely hard to work with. I don't need anything to ask me if it's an all day affair or from x time to x time. Just a simple event name, date and reminder. What is your favorite basic/simple calender. "MRI @ 8" (with room for a note if needed) is all I need.
Thanks

I prefer calender goo. You can find in on Google play. Easy to use and better layout and readability than stock...... IMO.

I used Business Calendar for a bit but really thought that I'd have to buy the full version if I wanted that app to be useful.

I found Simple Calendar Widget on the market and it's been wonderful!

There's a lot of customization you can do to make things pop out in the calendar. You can control the text size of various things (like date, title, time, etc.) to make sure that it fits your needs as a widget.

I highly recommend trying this one before you buy Business Calendar (because I don't think the free version of BC has enough features).

Anyone have a feel for what differences there are between the free and paid versions?

For Business Calendar, you have to pay for the full version to get the following:

* drag&drop mode in the multi-day view to move and copy events
* option to link a contact to an event
* configurable font sizes for the app and the widgets
* option to select individual calendars for each widget
* own Business Calendar reminders
* 11 different widget design themes
* option to create templates for events
* import/export function for calendar files in the popular iCalendar format (.ics, .ical)

Several of those features are free with the aforementioned Simple Calendar Widget.

aCalendar.....my favorite....opens to my week view, swipe left goes to month view or swipe right and goes to day view, scroll down or up on view and shows previous or next, very easy to navigate plus birthday updates are nice with pictures.... tried many of the others and this one is just so much simplier for my needs... used to use smooth calendar but had some problems with the ics update so I switched, like this one better...has either small widget or 4x4 ....

Thanks for all the suggestions. I guess my needs are just too simple to bother making an app LOL. I thought I found what I was looking for in Smooth Calendar but it has to work off of another calendar app. But, the look is what I'm going for. I don't need all this "all day" "end time" "location", multi-colored days and 100 other features. I know it's not out there because I've searched and searched but I guess to appeal to as many people as possible, the app has to have more features. I'll look at aCalendar.
