Root CyanogenMod9 users, please STAND UP!

Seems there's an awful lot more support on this forum for Deck's (which I have run) and MikG 3 (which I have run) and a few others but there seems to be a lack of users of the CM9 flavor!

Whyzit? Just wondering

I'm having a couple small issues that I think others who are using it could certainly get me straightened out on.

AND...if anyone could point me to a 'better' supported forum, I would greatly appreciate it :smokingsomb:

CM9 is nice but it has limitations so not many (here) are using it as a daily. XDA has alot of users of CM9 on there, just check the threads for each ROM. However, they aren't as "friendly" as the people are here.

THAT's what I really like about this forum! People here are 'civil' most of the time - very apt to help a true noob (like me, tho I'm farther along than when I first started!)...

Mainly no wimax, no front facing camera, sometimes stock videocamera. no hulu,netflix videos if you're into that.
Limitations of not having access to Htc source for drivers and what not.

Well, maybe that's why it doesn't seem to impact me as I don't have 4g in my area, I have never used my FFC, I use vid cam periodically and I don't use the netflix/hulu apps. Given these few shortcomings, I do however, like the ROM!

Then it's perfect for you. They really have made it work as much as possible. I have MIUI/ICS on my wife's non-connected EVO 4G (it has a broken usb charging port). So far, it has worked really well. I may flash Team Dirt's version soon.

ive only dabbled in ICS for the EVO. as much as I dont use 4g, vid camera, ffc...the video playback is still choppy, and thats where I usually have the problem, I cant just go watch a video if I want to.. Also, like stated in another thread, the ICS roms just dont have the fluidity as other GB ROMs out there, lastly, for some odd reason, my 3g speeds seem to drop very low on ICS (unsure if it is just heavy traffic times when I flash..or if its related..)..all in all, I LOVE ICS and the direction android is going, its just not for me on the EVO...Ill get plenty of "sweets" when I upgrade!

I recently switched over to ICS and I'm really digging it. The common non-working things don't bother me; I never use the ffc, Netflix, or Hulu and I don't have 4g in my area either.

Right now I'm testing the latest BlackICE Kangorade and so far this thing is nothing short of awesome! I have only found a few minor bugs but I have a feeling those will be worked out soon. Aside from that, imo, this ICS rom rocks!

Yeah, the way I see it is, I've had this device for two + yrs, and honestly, I get tired of looking at the same 'dash board' for long. That's why I like the rooted phone - I can switch to something totally different, and right now, ICS is kinda the latest (I know, there's JB) and greatest so it's neat that I can place it on my 'old' phone

I will likely be trying out the Black ice ROM sometime soon (before I HAVE to leave my EVO behind as I jump on board with my wife at Verizon). Enjoy it!

Thanks Greg!! I ran the black ICE rom a while ago but couldnt get past the facebook force closes..has that been fixed? if so, Ill flash it tonght

As far as I know, some people were still having that issue. I'm not having any fc issues with my facebook app but it IS currently having problems staying connected. As a workaround, I am using the the FBMX - Another Facebook Client app which seems to work flawlessly. So I think my issue is rom-related since facebook works just fine on my gf's phone running a different ICS rom.
