When hooking up my old Eris with CM ROMs, it would download my old apps. But when I installed the June leak on my Rez, it didn't even list my paid apps for me, though it noted them as Purchased once I found them again. What's up with that? Different Market versions?

This was removed in the latest version of the Play Store. I guess they want to make it hard on us to find our purchased apps once again.

I thought I read someone has the old version. And it has been renamed so you can install it next to the current play store version. I think it may have been on xda but not totally sure.

Ah, memories of the Eris Froyo update. Except this is worse. VZW politics are sickening, plus with the lawsuits in the air everything is sketchy. Who knows what will happen... or when.
No, the Eris was much worse off at that point. This is still...unacceptable, but not as bad as the Eris. It was close to unusable on Cupcake, and it really needed FroYo for storage purposes and HTC chose not to update it.

The only reason I got this phone was the price, but if HTC doesn't launch ICS today, I'll likely be on the phone with Verizon asking for a new phone. The lack of transparency with this update is frustrating.

I believe a properly compiled ROM (or, in this case, an official OTA) should automatically pull in your play store purchased/dled apps. When I put Bugless Beast JB ROM on my Nexus everything google related automatically downloaded, including my on-device google music and playlists. If you're messing around with a backup app you might have issues with your google services syncing back up automatically.

After a factory reset (because my phone was stuck in the boot-loop), I didn't get any of my purchased apps back - I had to go to the Play store and search for them. This surprised me, really, since I didn't have to do the same thing, previously, when I went from my OG Droid to the Rezound when I purchased it.

I noticed the All Apps tab the last time I had to install from scratch. If the did get rid of it in the latest version that's just stupid. It was an easy way to see what apps you had downloaded, for any of your phones.

Before using that, I used AppBrain from the Play Store. You set up an account, and your phone syncs to it, you can even select the frequency of the sync (I think the lowest setting is 15 or 30 minutes). You can add apps to your account from your PC as well, like the Play Store. And when you get another phone, you just create a new list and transfer the apps from your old one to it. Then they're there ready to sync & download.

It used to be that once you synced your Google account, your purchased apps automatically showed in the "My Apps" section, but for some reason they don't anymore. It seems the Play Store is taking a step back in terms of ease of use. Don't know why.

Looks like you will be asking for a new phone.

Found this on another site. So take it for what it's worth. At this point I don't know what is legit or if the below poster is making this up.

Here is the link from where I got this.

ICS about to land on the HTC Rezound 4G before the end of July? | Mobile Bloom News

If that's true about now they are waiting until Fall, that is total bull crap. I already installed the latest leak, but I got this phone in December thinking ICS would be available by Feb or March.

If AT&T wasn't so lousy I'd consider dropping Verizon.

I wouldn't mind demanding another phone from these idiots either, but I know where that's going to lead. Nowhere........

I don't see "queue" misspelled on this "leak" Verizon Leaked Document Says HTC Rezound to Get Android 4.0 ICS Update | The Droid Guy

I also don't see a "0" missing before any date in either of the screenshots. What leak is Tim T referring to?

If what he says is true, it won't matter, I'll be rooted and running ViperRez Rom long before then. As a matter of fact, if the OTA isn't being pushed by the end of the month I'll be doing that anyway.

HTC Rezound getting ICS tomorrow?AndroidGuys

Apparently, this is what went up first on The Droid Guy but was then "replaced" with what is there now.

I said there was something fishy about that first posting, it also seemed like it was changed much to fast, after someone here mentioned there being something wrong with the dates. Maybe E### is back. It also seems like ice cream is being served up all over the place today except here.

I think the pic was proven photo shop fake.

In any case I tweeted Vzw and HTC since it was supposed to be "by end of july".

no response yet from HTC but VZW said:

"We have no release information at this time but you can stay up to date here: <link>"

which just links to verizon wireless's official news releases

Yeah, not sure if Verizon actually took a stance on it or not, but HTC said end of July. The fact that it's still not here is...frustrating.

I sent Verizon an email asking them to be more transparent or allow me to get a new phone (which I doubt either will happen), and I'm about to email HTC. They're pretty quick, and at the very least, more honest about it.

Agreed. What's the point of getting this top of the line hardware if the software isn't updated? I stayed away from the Nexus because of the hardware compared to the Rezound, but I think I'd rather have JB.

Although, I do realize this could all be a moot point in a couple of months when we have ICS and a stable Cyanogenmod. All you have to do is wait. However, we were promised early 2012, and the lack of information has been beyond frustrating. I could handle the wait a lot better if Verizon would just communicate with us.

The bolded part of your post is exactly how I feel. If there were a concrete date (or at least a window) officially from Verizon's camp, then this wouldn't be an issue and I wouldn't be as disappointed as I am now.

When we were waiting for GB on the Inc, there was a guy named Evan, who said he worked for VZW, and kept telling us that it was coming. Most of us knew he was full of it, but he persisted.

This debacle was what made me disown every and any Android device with an overlay skin. That was agonizing and the frustrating wait led me to rooting and ROM'ing. Never again.

Hope you folks get the update soon.
