ICS OTA rolling out again 7/31

Woke up this morning, looked at my phone and it was there.

Clicked okay to restart and install.

Kind of "wonked" out my settings and changed a few things. Right now I'm in the process of backing up my stuff because I want to do a hard reset.

Battery life seems a bit lower now but I'm not sure in that I've had the update and played with it for half of this day.

Data speed seems a bit faster, although again, I'm not sure if it's the load bar up top of the browser moving across that's altering my perception.

Some things load faster other apps/widgets or commands seem slower.

Seems like font sizes increased and they're now trying to "cram" more info into smaller spaces.

The browser got the "sh*t" end of the stick. I can't get it to stick to desktop view now and various sites that I'm used to going to are now giving me "flash errors".

The facebook app seems to be crapping out as well. I click on specific threads and I get an "antenna" pic stating that the connection is lost. I let it sit there for about 20 seconds or so and then the thread populates. Wasn't doing this before the update.

Version number is identical to what was rolling out earlier, so I assume it's the same upgrade. Big bug in VPN (IPSEC/L2TP) in this version that I hope get's fixed soon.

I pretty much fixed the battery life issue by backing up on Kies, doing a factory wipe, and restoring the backup. Battery is not back to about what it was before.

I was having issues with the browser also after the ICS update. But I am glad, because I found out after the update I was able to download the Google Chrome browser and I like it is so much better than the stock browser.

Also getting the "Connection Lost, Tap to retry" screen on the Facebook app after the update. Some days it is completely unusable, others it will work like 50% of the time.

I had not heard of the method you used for battery life improvement. I tried the suggestion of removing the S/D card which I still don't know why this would ruin battery performance, but it has helped very much. My awake time is down & my battery lasts much longer than before. I will also try your back up method & hope it improves that much more also.
Thanks for the tip.

You're welcome...btw, I had a typo in my last sentence. Should have been 'now' instead of 'not'. It was a bit of a pain, just because I had to download all my apps again, but the Play Store makes that about as easy as it can be made. Was worth it for the battery life improvement.
