I had the orig incredible for over 2 years, then I upgraded to the incredible 4g about a month ago. I like it, but it only feels like s slight increase in improvement... Which says lot for the orig Inc. I originally thought the s3 would be to big, but now I am wondering. Size input?

Has anybody gone to the s3 from sense? How do you like it. what do you miss?

Like others have said, almost anything you love about sense can be replaced with something from the play store. The only thing I cannot find that I absolutely loved is the photo album widget.

I have never used the photo album widget, no good to hear that is the only thing you missed.

Has anyone wished it was smaller? Since I have the ing 4g (verizon tiny version of the htc one x) I have a small phone now, and never wish it was smaller, but I am concerned if I have that giant (looking at least) s3 that I will wish it was smaller. Anybody?

I came from the HTC Desire. When the S3 first came out I groaned at the huge size, because I didn't like the trend for larger and larger phones, and I was hoping it would be smaller than the One X, and it turned out to have an even larger screen. I was thinking that a 4.3" display was the largest I would ever be prepared to go. I even thought the S2 was too large. I was wrong.

I love my S3, and it seems normal to me now. I never wish it was smaller, which makes me laugh when I remember how I felt before. I've even bought a case which bulks it up even more. It just makes it feel like more of a beast.

I had the EVO 4G for 2 years. Just got the S3 last week. All I can say is WOW. The S3 meets every expectation for me. The screen is bigger but it is so thin so it doesn't feel bigger. I still carry it around in my front pocket. Going from Sense/Froyo to Touchwiz/ICS was a jump but nothing that was difficult just different. I will say I am using a different launcher "Nova Launcher" and there are quite a few to choose from. Big thread on this forum.

The S3 isn't really that much bigger than the S2, its just that the screen takes up more of the phone so it gives the impression of being bigger.
I think there is also the fact that reviewers in the media rave about how large it is , fostering an exaggerated idea of the size.

Anyone care to tell me where the love for Sense UI lays? I only used it by playing with my brother's phones (Thunderbolt and Incredible). Every time I found it confusing and far too bloated. Just unlocking it was a challenge.

Yet I keep hearing people dis Touchwiz and rave about Sense. TW just gives me more options for customizing my app drawer and changes the home screen menu buttons a little. Otherwise it feels very stock to me. Best I can figure is people loved the Sense widgets like the clock. But then that is available on the Play store as an add-on.

Is it just add-ons people loved or was there really more to Sense to love?

I think for me, it was that my first android phone was the incredible, so I "grew up" on it. So it just makes sense to me (ha, see what I did there?) :D

Its not that I am a sense fan boy, or a tw fanboy, but want what works for me daily, and makes me smile. Honestly after spending over an hour in verizon hoarding an s3 last night, I think the jump will be pretty easy, but I can say I think that sense ics seemed more customizable. Easier to make folders, and some othe simple things, but mostly deeper in, on places like the app drawer, widgets, shortcuts, apps, lots of ways to search, go to play store, etc etc, BUT I didn't feel like I was let down without all those options either. And the screen is really nice! Funny, I think one of the best things I like was the 3 buttons on the s3 vs my inc 4g. I have a home, multitask (who multitask that much?), and back button. I really really REALLY liked the idea that the s3 had a menu button! Plus the home button does 3 things! How cool is that!

Is there anyway to get it to not have a perpetual spin on the homescreens? I would like to swipe to the right and have it stop on the last screen, not go past and on to the first left screen. Same in the app drawer, it went back to "a" after I swiped past last page.

At this point, I really liked it, just waiting for my friend to pick his up so I can play with it and put it in my pocket. Verizon would not let me hold one without the dumb thief tether thing.

Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it!

Another quick question. Is there a video or write up of how to reduce the contacts on the s3? On sense I can pick and choose what it syncs from, ie facebook, google, contacts, etc. And can take out the ones that don't have a phone number.

Thanks!

You can do that with TW as well. Settings > Accounts and sync. Click the source and uncheck the sync box.
