Help What is draining my RAZR MAXX battery?

Nothing but problems ever since the ICS "upgrade"

Now my battery seems to drain for no apparent reason fairly rapidly. I have background data turned off the only way you seem to be able to via ICS. (Into Data usage then set limit then restrict background data.), but my phone eats the battery like there is no tomorrow now & it sits on my desk all day hardly being used.

No, I have not added any new apps or programs. I am doing the same things I have always done.

Anyone else have this problem?

While it sucks because you have to set everything up from scratch, I would advise trying it.

From what I remember reading, ICS was never designed to be upgraded from GB. Rather, it was designed to be a fresh and clean install. Motorola and everyone else realized that this would never fly with customers and did their best to make the upgrade process keep everything but it caused it's own batch of problems.

tl;dr - Factory reset will fix most (not all) of the problems with the ICS update. :)

It does not fix all the problems. I have a 3% drain rate per hour just sitting on my desk in a 3 bar area. 3% is constant whether in 3G or 4G. The only data traffic I have occurring is check for weather. I have done a full reset running nothing but stock after the reset not even downloading any apps from Play and still have about a 3% drain.

My Android OS seems high at 28 - 40% on most days while doing nothing. I have also tried the .215 leak and did not notice any difference in battery life or high Android OS utilization.

I have been trying to trap what processes are running in the OS to no avail.
