Root The "Fix everything by turning your phone into an Evo 3d" thread

I renamed all of the files with what they are as shown in the picture and if I want to flash one of them, I'll copy them from my downloads folder to the root and rename them back to PG86IMG.zip

File names MUST remain exactly as they are and need to be handled one at a time on the sdcard. There is no shortcuts to be taken here. Bootloader is VERY specific and will only load files with that name and in that location.

And yes, you need the modded files, at least until you have the Hboot. Once you have that, you can flash almost anything, I think.

Seriously. Where's a mod when you need one?

Right here! Does this need stickied? I'm mobile right now so can't do much, but if you hit report, one of the other guys can review and action as needed :)

Yes

Edit: Not sure what happened. I tried to quote xplopr

You're on tapatalk? It's a bug with tapatalk unfortunately, not much we can do to fix, sorry.

So I did the s-off trick successfully and am now trying this on odex stock rom. Soon as I got into bootloader to install the hboot file I get prompted to update....press power button.....then the phone went into bootloop. Well what the crap I then did the radio and pri file successfully as well. Seems I can get into bootloader and twrp recovery but the boot loop continues. Wipe install odex and still same results. Not panicking but would anybody care to help me. thanks

EDIT: NVM after odex would'nt work I tried midnight rom and it seems to be starting up fine.

Finally a reason to go s-off, tho i must admit I am slightly daunted by doing so.
Therefore a few Question I hope you all can help me with.

"Prerequisits:
You need to be Root and S-off.
You should be on a stock-based Sense rom for the PRL change "

I am currently running Harmonia ( ty LeslieAnn )
Q 1 :
Do I need to flash jmz shooter to do this then re-install Harmonia

Q2 : Regarding s-off, Do you know if REvolutionary will s-off this phone?

Revolutionary will permanently unlock NAND write protection by default on the following phones:

HTC Sensation (pyramid)
HTC Evo 3D (shooter)
HTC EVO 3D GSM (shooteru)

I am assuming the EVO V is the CDMA (shooter) ?
Other wise I'll get my taped paperclip ready to go *heavysigh*
Thank You
S

I don't believe REvolutionary will work, considering our hboot is 1.57. REvolutionary only supports hboot 1.4, I think.

A1. you need to be on the stock rom, rooted, and unlocked
A2. you will have to do the wire trick ( HTC Evo 3D (shooter) 1.30.0000 and 1.40.0000) <<-supported hboots by revolutionary..by the way what is your hboot?

I suggest you find an old charging cord and peel off the ends with a nail clipper to expose the wire, much better then a paper clip and worked like a charm for me
