[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Three questions:

1) I want the volume wake mod and I DL it from the Rootz thread and flashed it. The rocker doesnt wake the device. I tried a reboot and fixing permissions. No luck. Any ideas?

2) I just the soft key mods with batt % and everything but they dont have white softkeys. Just blue and green and red. I want to keep it stock looking. Tips?

3) Is there no power option menu that includes a screenshot option?

NOTE: I can from version 1.5. FULL wipe :)

There are quite a few mods on the 2nd post in the Rootz thread...but make sure to follow the process below for mod install....hopefully these all work with this version!
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/28677-rom-jelly-belly-v56-08062012-jellybean-411-pure-aosp-its-all-about-the-butter/

Check here for the volume wake mod..make sure to wipe dalvik before and install then wipe dalvik, then fix permissions...some people have better luck fixing permissions in recovery either TWRP or CWMR or you could try it in ROM manager...then reboot system. All of this on a new recovery session, not at the same time as the ROM and Gapps.

Good luck!!

Hmmm.... Having trouble downloading. It's stopping randomly. I'll try again later.

Where are you downloading from? And how is your service...on wifi or 4g/3g...

I download these usually from DevHost or using the Goo.IM app directly on my phone....

Good luck, and of course, if needed the ROM and the GAPPS are in my dropbox, see this threads OP for the link!

Running great for me...and I finally found the new Inverted apps....still waiting for the dev to update the Gmail to the newest version....but other than that, working Awesome!!

The OP states that we should dona CLEAN install before flashing the update to the new ROM version. Is wiping Dalvik cache and regular cache enough? Or should we do another step?

Also, will the currently installed Gapps stick, or do we always have to reinstall it? On a random side note, I have noticed that Gmail defaults in the recent Gapps packs are set to DO NOT SYNC mail when you go into the settings. Interesting.

Thanks for asking and all good questions.
Gmail is no longer a part of the Gapps package for this ROM, just like YouTube, because it is available through Play.

If coming from any other ROM or anything below the 4.0x versions..a clean install is required. And all installs, whether dirty or clean will need the ROM and a gapps installed during the same recovery session every time. Then after a reboot, a new recovery session can be used to flash mods...

For a dirty flash, I wipe dalvik and reg cache then install ROM and gapps then fix permissions, then reboot, then let it sit then recovery to flash mods with a dalvik wipe before and after mods, fix permissions then reboot.

That said, depending on the gapps version, you may find an older version of gmail in it or during g a dirty flash..and sync will be off, yes. Also, the default is to NOT restore all apps from Play to give people the chance to use Titanium Backup to restore their own apps. That's how I do it, and as long as you don't restore a system app, TIBU works great!!

+1 on the fix permissions.
Also, I am seeing a weird WiFi bug on 5.6...every time my WiFi is disconnected, through a reboot or I leave the area, I have to reenter my password...weird.

As for the soft key and % battery mod, I am using one and it works great. Check my drop box, in the mods folder, for the one I am using...see the op for the link.

Added to that, I am still having issues with inverted mods...looks like the devs who put out the ones I like, are not quite up to the current versions....oh well, will keep looking.
I can get Talk and MMS. But nothing else again.....

Version 6.0 is out.

CLEAN INSTALL IS A MUST.

Use Gapps JB 122088

Changelog
6.0 (md5: 832c40131e5ecb1601241a079b1383e4)
updated to latest AOSP (JRO03L)
performance improvements
updated gapps, use my latest 08/08 package (based on JRO03L)

Thank you! So THIS is where we wanna backup non-system apps, factory reset, and install fresh, then restore apps.... Right? Or is there a "clean install" that won't wipe apps?

Thanks again,

Matt!

Yes...backup time. Are you using Titanium Backup? Makes it pretty easy to restore apps. Just make sure to not restore any system apps....good luck!

Anyone seeing any issues with 6.0 yet?

Not installed yet but I'll let you know after I'm up and running. thanks again for the dropbox...

Ryan is it the same one since 3.6? I looked through your drop box I didn't see any where do you have it?

I just d/l'ed both 6.0 and the gapps from his dropbox.. they are in the Jelly Belly folder.

No issues here, if you have any Google apps you will need to reactivate them.

What do you think of the volume? seem low again?

I purchased Volume+ back in December 2011 two weeks after having the GNex and have been using it since. :)

I wiped caches and did a system wipe to install 6.0 and the new Gapps. I did NOT do a factory reset. Even though everything seems fine, I should probably redo it and do a factory reset, then simply restore my 3rd party apps via TB, huh?

I am not using CWM, I am using TWRP.

Thanks,

Matt!

If its working g for you with no issues...you prolly can wait on the TIBU and reset...however if any issues crop up...then try the reset first.
I use TWRP too...works great!
