At a certain point you need in app purchases to progress. At least that's how it is on iOS. I really despise that practice.

Prototype Defense Lite: constantly upgrading. No in app purchases. They promise to give us a map editor in the paid version so we can create our own levels. Havent seen that elsewhere. According to reviews they hold their promises so far.

I guess no one of you know the brilliant game Orc Genocide, do you?
It isn't a typical tower defense game but its ****ing awesome, you can even play it via splitscreen against your friend on the same device.

Kind of at the end of my time with towers and trolls, which is excellent. Now playing Tower Defence and loving that too.

Sam & Dan Games
Pokemon Tower Defense is one of the best I've played. It merges a traditional TD game with RPG elements pretty well. This was the devs first major project, so it isn't as polished as their sequel. There is constant communication between the dev and players, and for better or not, they listen to suggestions. Give it a try is you want a nostalgic 6th grade feeling.

But addictive, but jelly defense is a lot of fun if your device can handle it. Minimum specs are a dual core, my nook tablet plays it great, and my LG spectrum handles it, but my Samsung moment and HTC Evo 4g cannot play it.
I spend a good bit of time on armored defense and a td variant cartoon wars. Arel wars is fun as well.
