What is the YouTube fix somebody PM it to me if you don't mind. Does it fix HD YouTube videos from buffering over and over again?

The youtube fix was related to the very fist version of this ROM. It's not needed for the current version that is available. I'm not currently on the ROM but I think it involved side loading another version of YouTube.

Just switched from Jelly Belly after having several small issues. Having chrome as the stock browser was holding me back from trying it, but once I found the zip for it I was ready.

However, on every startup I get a force close for Verizon Login before everything even loads. I havent seen any comments on this, but does anyone have this issue or know how to fix it. I dont have any of the Verizon apps on my phone at all.

Hi,

Currently, I am on Codename Jelly Bean and I am facing that issue as well with My Verizon Mobile requiring a Client Login File. I need this application to work so that I can control my talk/data limits.

I didn't have this issue prior to the 8/3 build (I get the same error ) and haven't been able to download the newest one. Has anyone installed it yet?

on XDA some people are saying the UI is alot smoother, VZW client works and the Kernel is the stock google one not Pete's custom one

Don't know that the UI is a lot smoother, but it's still outstanding. Yes the VZW app works in the latest 8/7 build. I installed it early this morning and it's working fine.

link to 8/7 build

whats new in this one?

I am still on the 7/19 build

If I flash the newer one do I have to re-install everything all over again and start fresh?? I just got the phone set up the way I like it..

You do not have to re-install.

Taken from Pete's FAQ:

When updating to a new nightly build, what needs to be wiped?
Upon initial install of my ROM, everything must be wiped (wipe data/factory reset). Subsequent installs of nightly builds only require wiping dalvik cache and cache.

what exactly is dalvik cache and cache.. like what does it remove, example?

no it wont hurt anything,it just clears the "running in the background" files so there is no conflict with the new ROM build...actually i get better performance when i clear the caches(about once a week)...... Its basically like clearing your Temporary Internet Files on your windows PC, its just digital cholesterol

All apps are still there. My flash player doesn't seem to be working in Chrome; looking into it though.

So do any backups you want; do the backup within ClockWork.
Then go to Advanced in Clockwork; clear the dalvik cache.
Then backup and clear the partition cache.
Then install the new ROM.
Confirm the build version after reboot is Aug 7th.

EDIT: Flash is working. Not sure what it was, if anything. I did reinstall it over the existing install and did a reboot. Not sure if either of this addressed it, or if it addressed itself.

The thought of doing that actually crossed my mind more recently too. Seems like my phone runs better after flashing a rom which I figured wasn't only the rom but the clearing of the caches too. Would clearing cache's / dalvik on a regular basis (weekly?) have and adverse affects on my phone? How long have you been doing that?
