Help SMS Issues After ICS Upgrade

Yeah my apologies, I should have mentioned that. I did a full factory reset and cleared everything off the SD card as well. Also I should mention that I have full bars, perfect signal, never had any problem before. One thing I have noticed is that in the settings where you turn on/off WiFi / Bluetooth / Mobile Network / etc, the Mobile Network is switched to the ON position but underneath it just says "Turning on..."

Also let me throw this in here too. When I try and send a text and it doesn't go through, I get this error:

SMS Error
Cause Code: 65535
Error Class: 3

Do your contact's phone numbers have a "+1" at the beginning so it looks like +15072221234? If so remove it and try sending a new message again, HTC's stock ICS message app doesn't seem to like numbers in this format. This has been an issue with other HTC devices and Facebook contact sync, you might also have to delete all messages from that contact after changing the number before you can send again. Here is some discussion on that problem on another site: Cant send text Error 65535

Are you using the stock text message app? If so, try handcent.

Indeed I am using the stock text messaging app. In all honesty, I would prefer to use the stock messaging app because I'd like my phone to work like it should, hah.

Thanks for the advice - I had found the same solution posted on a few sites but unfortunately that is not my problem. In fact I have done the factory reset so I have absolutely nothing on my phone and nothing synced. The numbers I've tried testing I input manually. It is very hit or miss when it goes through.

I went to the Verizon store, and of course when I got there texts were working fine so the rep blamed it on poor signal. Though I showed him the screenshots I had saved where it shows 4G active and 4/5 bars active and the error message. I'm kind of at a loss right now. I'm just going to try and do some random stuff and see what happens. If I find anything out I'll report back here.

One other thing to note, and this might have nothing to do with your issue either... I get this exact error once in a while when I am working out in the Williston Basin (Bakken Oilfield area)... seems to happen sporadically at random times and doesn't seem related to signal strength but that area has seen probably at least a 10 fold increase in population over the last 2 years so I just figured it was due to over-congestion at the towers or in the VZW network in the area. If I just click Retry several times, it usually goes through eventually.
