Help Authorize HTC Sense

Hi guys sorry this is my first post but i got the new update come through on my sensation xe and since this my phone says "Authorize HTC Sense to access your Facebook" in the notification bar when i tap this it loads for a second then says please wait and just goes back to the homescreen. My friend strem is not working i've tried removing facbook and reinstalling and even tried a factory data reset and im all out of ideas now so if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. I can't get the notification to disappear and i quite like having friend stream on my main page too.

ok ive lost the notification but in my setting Account & Sync on facebook the Sync Calender and Sync live feed have a sync logo with an exclamation mark by them and at the bottom it says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." this has been about 2 and a half days now though anybody got any ideas? many thanks

Try logging in via Friend Stream in your app drawer.

Once you've opened the app, goto Menu>settings>Accounts & Sync and check your facebook account is syncing.
Cheers for the reply mate, when i go to friend stream i get a pop up saying "Please authorize HTC Sense to access your facebook account. Once your HTC Sense is authorized, you can read and post updates in people, gallery and calendar, or chat with your friends in fb chat."
when i tap ok it just closes the session and takes me to the menu. In accounts and sync my facebook wont sync it just says at the bottom Sync is currently experiencing problems, It will be back shortly.

No worries!

Ok, lets look at HTCSense.

Goto Menu>settings>Account & Sync. Do you have HTC Sense in your list with a green circle with arrows in it?

If not, press add account & find HTC Sense in the the list. If you haven't registered an account, I think you can create one.

If you do have one, delete it, reboot your phone & then follow the steps above to log back in.

Ok cheers im rebooting as we speak but when the phone is starting back up it says its upgrading 1 of 19 and works through the list if that makes a difference?

no unfortunately not htc replied to my e-mail saying to do a hard reset although i already have done and if that didnt work to send the phone to them for repairs, i assume the repairs are free under warranty as the phones under a year old? bit strange it needs to go back as the problems only happened since the new update, cheers for all the help though

I wouldn't have thought for a minute that the problem was due to hardware, if HTC are asking you to send it in they can only think 2 things!

'Hardware' What HW is this phone running and is it conflicting with ICS!! (Not likely)

'Software' What haven't we covered, what has the carrier done to the update to cause this!! (Most Likely)

thanks so much just tried this and its gone, sometimes it goes for abit and then comes back so only time will tell, when i went into my local orange shop they told me its because orange wasnt ready to support ics software but thought that sounded rubbish, htc wanted me to send the phone into them but i kinda need my phone and didnt want to lose all my stuff lol, you are a lege :)

Hi, i had same issue with my HTC sensation xl but also other major issues along with it resulting in the handset being replaced. It still did it. Rang HTC who advised to remove htc sense from app and sync menu, remove facebook and reinstall. not error message :) hoping that when i create a new htc sense account, it wont happen again :)
I'm having the same problem with my HTC Evo 4G. I've tried all of the previous suggestions. I'd like to try yours, but I need clarification. What do you mean by "remove HTC Sense from app and sync menu"? I don't see HTC Sense in my apps. Where exactly do I find it?

I think I finally fixed it! In case anybody else ever has this problem, try this:
Facebook on your PC > Privacy Settings > Apps and Settings (at bottom of page); click edit > click Turn On Apps > Login to FB on your phone

Edited to add: that is definitely the fix... I tried turning off apps on FB/PC and FB/phone had the error again. Turning them back on fixed it.

It worked immediately for me. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.

PS: do HTC imagine that someone likes HTC WITHOUT facebook?

i tried to create HTC sense account but it says error can not determinate ur region :-S wh can i dol please :( :(
