Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

I can confirm the reboots aren't because of no-frills cpu. I've frozen it via TB but still get reboots. Granted I'm still on 1.1.6, going to .9 tonight.

I got a reboot on 1.1.8 by ending a phone call. Seems to be random and no one specific thing is causing it.

Updated to 3.1.2 Anthrax.. Love the sweep2wake! Sweep2sleep is pretty darn cool too!

I made the jump from 1.1.6 to 1.1.9 earlier today. One twice repeated issue so far is not being able to reconnect to my home wifi network without toggling the wifi switch when I return. This wasn't an issue with 1.1.6, is anyone else seeing this? I have since changed the settings to never sleep the wifi radio to keep my voip apps going, and will report if this solves the issue.

Other than that, things have been smooth sailing for the past 4 hours with a handful of voice calls and a little streaming audio. Thanks xthedakmanx!

Im currently running this rom and love it so far. I was wondering how it compares to the other roms though. Has anyone tried the other roms and can give an unbiased opinion? Most important thing for me is battery life.

I've tried two others, Harmonia and Mobster. Both offer a lot of user control and major benefits over stock, but both seem to have very different aims, or at least different means of getting the most out of their roms. I didn't see any noticeable difference in battery life between all of them (including midnightrom). If battery life is most important, tweaking your system for energy savings, reigning in potential problem apps, and getting a bigger (or second) battery are your best bets.

Between Harmonia and Mobster (I'll leave midnightrom's comparison to xthedakmanx, this is his thread), if I have to sum them up, IMO based on my limited experiences with each, I'd say:

Harmonia- Fast and closer to stock. The dev Leslie Ann seems very careful with her releases, taking a conservative approach emphasizing stability.

Mobster- Fast and very lightweight, closer to the pure android experience, meaning removing a lot- in this case most of HTC's well integrated Sense, which is no easy feat. More bleeding edge rom, high performance, less stability.

i'm guessing something about the anthrax kernel still needs to be further refined. but i'm still enjoying this rom.

for those experiencing random reboots did you guys do a clean or dirty flash, im still trying to find out if you can do a dirty flash with this rom without it causing problems
I tried flashing after a factory reset. I tried flashing after just wiping cache/dalvik. Nothing helped. Then I deleted no frills. Still no luck. Then I wiped cache/dalvik after I deleted no frills.. that worked.. but still one problem. I'm chewing through battery. Like 1% every 3 minutes . And I have s extended battery.
The battery has been sick so far on other roms. Acesoft.. I highly recommend it to anyone with this phone. Anyway . No more random reboots
But I'm chewing through battery .

*****Edit******
Battery chewing has stopped. Phone is working flawlessly . So for everyone having random reboots. Delete No Frills CPU. Then wipe cache/dalvik and reboot. My phone had been working fine . Although I do miss having the capability of being able to change my CPU frequency for extra performance when needed. But honestly not needed

Very impressed here. I did a full reset/wipe and have had no reboots so far on 1.1.9 (don't want to jinx myself). If No-Frills CPU is to blame, it hasn't effected me yet (running the xondemand profile, 1.566GHz max). I have two voip apps running constantly (sipdroid and grooveip) and wifi never sleeps, so there is a low level, but constant demand being placed on the phone.

I also installed google voice and the search widget. Google voice thru the search widget seems to work flawlessly on 1.1.9. I pushed it pretty hard with a dozen requests in a row, which would have hung it in 1.1.6. But.... google voice thru the capacitive search button is wonky, maybe I missed something.

Besides the wifi reconnection issue (don't know yet if it's still an issue with wifi never sleeping now), I'm finding a minor bug with the installed task manager reporting zero memory usage for every app so far except for settings.
