For those having issues with Kies, uninstall it, then download the latest version from Samsung support. My problem was because I've not used Kies in a long time, it wanted to update to a newer version and couldn't do it correctly for some reason. Once I reinstalled Kies and connect the Tab, it went through and download and installed ICS.

ICS is not totally new to me as I have CM9 running on my TouchPad. It's nice and more functional. I/We don't use the Tab much more than reading news, emails, YouTube and such, and a little bit of gaming. It's only been on a couple days, we'll see after a couple weeks. :)

How about you, mike28? Oops, sorry, I misread your comment and thought you got the update. Sorry. I did the OTA check first and got No Update found message. But when I checked for firmware update via Kies the same day, it found it. Hope you'll get it soon.

You know how many times I've tried that? No, the problem is kies won't work with hc 3.2 The only really successful method is to do a factory reset. Then it will connect, but i'm not going to go through that just for freakin ICS. I'll wait for OTA, which add of 6 a.m. today still hasn't shown up.

Still waiting as well the only issue I have is that I'm rooted I don't know if that might cause an issue I'm rooted but kept all apps intact no custom rom either

Are you saying they're done with the U.S.? Because I still haven't gotten it.
Not at all.
This is a gradual roll-out process and it may take weeks for all the devices in the US to get update notifications. There are millions of Tabs out there. That means some 750-1,000 terabytes of updates are required from the update severs. That doesn't happen overnight.

This simply means that other areas are slowly getting their updates rolled out to them too, which means even more terabytes of updates to push. And the updates stay on the servers for many months after a new update is made available, so even if you had a crash and recovered with an old version, you could still update to the most recent version months after using OTA updating.

If you're in a big rush to get the update, you have two choices:

1 clear the google framework services data and perform the update check over and over till it finally works
or
2 get the software to update manually with Odin and flash it yourself

Either way gets you updated to essentially the same version. I flashed the UK version on my Canadian branded Tab and now I have ICS without all the branded junk on mine. It's great!
:)

Thanks for the detailed response. I can wait. I just don't want to miss it. I read that someone reset their tab so they could connect to kies, and then there was no update notification, so i'm hesitant to do that. Anyway, thanks again.
