[Verizon] [MOD] Battery Booster

Does This mod work on all android device i have an htc evo v 4g and ima download it but I would like to know does this work on my device

The file inside of the zip is universal. But whether you can flash it in an evo recovery I don't know. You can try to just flash it...it won't hurt you phone if it doesn't work. It will just say "installation aborted" but it won't hurt anything.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it flashed just fine on the Evo. But if it doesn't flash right in recovery then you can extract the file and just push it via a adb or root explorer.

But the bottom line is...any way you slice it the file will def work on any phone :D

If you're on a ROM that has no sysctl.conf file, ie. BAMF, It also doesn't have an init.d file.

You can create an init.d folder in system/etc and add a file named 99sysctl in the file just put 'sysctl -p' and it will start the sysctl.conf file at boot.

Just curious, could someone copy and paste what is in this modded sysctl file?

*edit*

Just went ahead and flashed it. You will need to create an init.d folder, if one does not exist, and file to start sysctl or it will not run by itself. This would only be for ROMs without a sysctl file already in place.

Maybe the reason some are reporting increases in battery life and some not so much?

After looking at the DroidXforums again, wouldn't it be necessary to note in the OP about this requiring BusyBox to be installed? Or am I wrong on that?

Where did you read that? The sysctl file is on many stock unrooted ROMs across many devices. I just modded this one with root access. If busybox is needed I would like to be linked to that thread on DroidXforums so I can read up on it :D

But I do t see why anyone with a rooted android device wouldn't have busybox in the first place lol.

EDIT- OK thanks for the link lol. I was on my phone so I didn't realized you had linked it already. And that was referring to the app that created the interface for modding the sysctl.conf file from your phone :) you don't need busybox to run the file...you just need busy box to use the app that the dude on DXforums made. :) so no worries :)

But I recommend having busybox either way...its very useful

@p-bOt When do you think you'll be able to update this thread with the updated flashable zip?

I can do it tonight. Life came a calling unexpectedly lol. I'm thinking I might have to just two different zips though. One for ROMs that already init.d and ones that don't. That's about as simple as I can make it without risk of conflicting files. :) but look in the op late tonight and it should be there

Do we still use your Battery Booster Remover if we want to remove the alternate mod?

Looks like P-Bot removed his "uninstaller". Any chance of getting it back? or is the simple fix to re-flash our ROM?

i am working on revising the battery booster remover...but it will also have to be two different zip files just to make sure that everything gets put right back where it goes. it will be up either late tonight or sometime before 4pm tomorrow because thats when i go to work lol.

Thank you!

You're welcome! And sorry to everyone that's been waiting for the battery booster remover! I have been so busy. I am in the middle of starting a new semester of college, working, paying bills, and I have a woman that need constant attention! Lol. But tomorrow I have the day off from EVERYTHING! so expect it sometime tomorrow :D

Thanks for your patients :D

I turned data, wifi, and sync of last night after flashing battery Booster and woke up 7 hours later with an 8% loss

Subsequently lost about 8% in about 10 mins of screen time so it kinda seems like this delays the battery loss time

I've experience similar results before. I'm still keeping an eye on this latest release... but you may be right.

Well..... What are the memory tweaks? And would they interfere with any other memory tweaks?

they just manage memory better lol. Look im not a dev here...i just make small mods and test them...then release them for other peeps to try out.

Idk if it will interfere with the supercharger but you can always try it and report back. There are alot of things to learn by trying things out yourself and informing the community

its not like everyone is a professional android dev with multiple programming degrees. we all do this for fun :) so have fun doing some leg work with rest of us :D
