Looks like MS will have a tablet problem

Interesting comments. Apparently, Lenovo's CEO Yang Yuanqing "seems confident his company is going to wipe the floor with Microsoft." Very Apple-like smugness. But this is not exactly what he said. The writer perhaps should have his dramatic license revoked.

The CEO apparently did say this: ""[They're] just one of our many competitors. We are still confident that we are providing much better hardware than our competitors including Microsoft."

The second comment seems fair and even tempered. After all, every manufacturer takes pride in their products and wants us to know they can do it better than the other guy.

Then you have Acer's CEO saying "We have said [to Microsoft] think it over. Think twice. It will create a huge negative impact for the ecosystem and other brands may take a negative reaction. It is not something you are good at so please think twice."

Seems either he is an ass or he is scared. Not sure he would have said the same thing about his other competitors. And we all know what would happen if Jobs said it.

If I were a tablet maker, I would wonder about the Microsoft product. Perhaps they get it right this time. Not sure it can compete with the iPad unless it is an amazing product.

I wonder if the iPad was set to arrive in a few months, how it would be received by other manufacturers. Perhaps the iPad came at the right time to claim its place in history.
