Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

Will 6.0 have the 2.3.6 update or will I have to update my phone?

6.0 will be based on ff27 and fg11 which is the boost and sprint versions of the newest 2.3.6 build from samsung. Your phones software will be uptodate but you may still need to update your baseband depending on whether or not chev and mav are able to find a way to include this in their rom.

Hello all. I have a couple of questions about installing CWM and this Rom. I currently have a stock 2.3.4 stock TU. It looks like the first step is to use Odin to install CWM. Since I am stock 2.3.4, do I still have to do a battery pull when Odin says reset or is that just for 2.3.6 users? My next step seems to install this rom in the proper folder on my microsd card. Then I should boot directly into CWM and then install this rom.
This brings me to my 2nd question. Does installing this rom give me root or is there a step I missed along the way? I previously had a Galaxy Prevail and it went 1) Root, 2) install Cwm and 3) Install Rom. So I want to make sure Im not skipping a step with my TU. Also, are the drivers for the prevail the same as the TU? If not, would installing new drivers conflict with old drivers? I think thats about it for now. Thanks to all involved in making are phones user and rom friendly and anyone who can help me out.

Currently I am testing this ROM for chev and mav. I am on the Sprint Network. This build (and baseband) is based off the FD11 for us Sprint users. I am, however, currently up to date on the FG11 baseband.

Just to clear things up for us Sprint users.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Since your still on 2.3.4 just root your device by following this thread Click Here to see the thread
then download odin and the need files " odin.ops, and the new clockworkmod" follow the instructions on this thread HERE to get step by step instructions. once your done with all of that come back here and follow the instructions on how to install the $hevron ROM.
once you connect your phone to your computer it should automatically download the drivers if needed.

Loota is right its based off the FG11, the only difference between the two build is some network files and the build.prop. i'll be replying to your pm shortly.

Hi all,

The android update has brought me back to this stupendous forum about messing with a perfectly good phone until you break it, and then spending hours fixing it in the process, crying about it to anyone who listens. :trytofly:Lol all kidding aside I think everyone here rocks. :burnout:So, back to this Boost update. I zipped that bad boy on this morning got android 2.3.6 and FF27 there. Great, b/c I don't know how to apply (flash) these things (Roms/updates) while being able to go back to my absolutely coveted apps I stubble down the road like an idiot. I tried to restore a back up I made before the update, but failed. Then I tried to flash Mr.Ree back on, but that didn't work. Spent some time on a boot loop, then got $heveron back on. It rocks and is very fast. Can't wait to flash the MegaTron! :joyman:

MegaTron, runs on android 2.3.6 tweeked correct?
How come this Rom $hervon 5.3.2 got rid of the update error if it is only using Android 2.3.4? The update was to 2.3.6 right like MegaTron will run right?
The, "Install zip from SD" CWM is how you change the components of a Rom without switching the Rom, yes?
When is that function used compared to the Restore?
Thanks again. Sorry admin for blurring the newbie message in with the heavy hitters here.

1. Yes MegaTron will run android 2.3.6 FF27 and FG11 for boost and sprint
2. It's not gone yet, wait it will come back
3. yes
4. A restore restores an entire system instead of just changing one thing

Awesome looking stuff!!! What made you guys go away from a blue themed ROM?? Love the black & white though...:thumbup:

Thought it was time for a change, blue theme has been running as the main theme for shevron every since version 1 so i decided to make the default theme black and white but dont worry an ICS theme, green and purple and or pink willing be coming soon. hopefully they will all be ready for the release of mega and if not it will show up in few days lol.

Hello all. I took the plunge yesterday and went from stock to running this awesome rom. I am still runnig 2.3.4 but give me time.:) I had a couple of questions about gettind rid of a couple of things. I downloaded a generic app requiring root and I wanted to get rid of 1) go sms pro 2) ex mail and 3) animated weather. I quickly started to have issues after removing sms pro so I restored a backup and everything went back to normal. Is it safe to rid of these three items? And if so what should I use. I was hoping to avoid tb as it has too many bells and whistles for me. I just want something simple.

I have one more question. I can't stop haptic feedback for the life of. I unchecked the box, but yet it remains. Its driving me nuts. Thank you for any and all help.

Edit: The haptic feedback wasn't the issue, it was a settng in the keyboard

They have a few apps out there that will allow you to freeze apps so they don't run at all but they will still be on your phone. it's what i do if i'm unsure about the safe removal of something i don't really want. as far as $hevRom 5.3.2 (the current one?) i did remove go sms pro and animated weather. i like the stock texting better and i i wanted a clock that was more fitting to my theme and dont really have need for a weather app. ex mail is the email app that Chev used for this version and there isn't another email app installed but yeah, until further notice if i'm unsure about the removal of an app, i freeze it and let it go a few days to see if something acts up.

ps correct me if im wrong on any of the above info...im not a dev or anything...

Thanks for the response. What method did you use to get rid of these apps?
