Anyone seen a car dock?

Akita. The iBOLT S III dock fits with cases up to 2.5 mm thick. This means all known cases except Otterbox Defender and the Ballistic cases fit. The Otterbox commuter for example fits very nicely. We will work towards having a case compatibility list. As soon as I have something I will post it here...

The iBolt is awesome! I got mine over the weekend and it is perfect. IT is very low profile, clean looking, and the phone fits perfectly, even with my TPU case on the phone. In conjunction with Car Dock Ultra, it is the perfect accessory. As far as those complaining that they dont have access to the power button, I have found that if I press the opposite side of the phone that it will activate the power button from underneath. A+ iBolt!

I take it from your post, that your S3 display shuts off at some time. Mine stays always on when plugged into the iBolt. Is this normal? How can I turn off the screen if the power button is below & covered by the mount so the phone can stop heating up from hours of the display being on on trips? thanks

I used the Infuse dock a couple of times and today it cracked the corner of my screen...not very happy but that's what I get for buying something not made specifically for that phone. Guess I'll be getting the iBolt soon.

I picked up an iBolt ($39.99 +tax) last Friday at a Verizon store and it's awesome (the ibolt, not the Verizon store). I use it in conjunction with Car Home Ultra (paid version) and it works great. I also have a Seidio Active Case and it fits perfectly.

so ive been using the iBolt for a bit now...ill write up a more in depth review at some point....but i like it for the most part...

im not CRAZY about how the power connector works...but i think i was just spoiled by the DX Dock from Motorola on that one...

my only other gripe (and its more with Samsung than iBolt) is that you have access to the volume rocker, but not the power button...sometimes with my X it was easy to place the phone in the dock but not be using it for anything (playing music, nav etc) but just wanted to charge it...so it was nice to be able to click the power button and lock the screen...

but overall its a SOLID piece and im glad i waited for this instead of getting the Infuse dock which i knew was going to eventually start problems

That is what I have - an OtterBox case so I don't have to worry about it while hiking. Does anyone have experience with fitting an S3 + OtterCase in a car dock?

which one? im almost POSITIVE i read in this thread that the commuter fits in the iBolt dock (which IMO is THE BEST dock for our cars)

Found this video, so I ordered a commuter case. Been using iBolt for a couple of weeks and I agree, best dock available!

I also have had the iBolt for a couple weeks now and have to say it's probably the best dock for our phones. I have an aluminum bumper cover and it fits perfectly. I'm using Car Home Ultra.

I like my old DX dock better but the charge port on the S3 is on the bottom so it kind of limits the dock design.

Only thing I don't like is that when the phone is docked and charging, the camera/video mode will be upside down. Only way to record is by unplugging the charge. Not sure why this happens. I plan on road course racing and would like to record my experience on the track.

I re-used the Brodit that I had for my iPhone, modified it slightly and it fits the S3 great now, its the adjustable on so fits with pretty much any case on, my case is the Otterbox commuter. It also rotates so can view the phone in landscape for satnav etc.

curious how the Infuse car dock cracked your screen? I've used mine nonstop for weeks and haven't seen any problems, but don't want to break my phone.

My infuse dock works great as well. In and out a couple of hundred times so far and no prob. I did use a Drexel on it though so it goes in and out easier.

I had thought it was too tight a fit and cracked the screen when I was taking out of the dock. Came to find out when my wife was checking out my phone, she dropped it on the driveway before I was able to put my case on so that's probably where the crack came from. I wish I had known that before I sent the Infuse dock back. I already got an iBolt so it's too late now.

Broke down and bought the ibolt from my local VZW store. I actually love the damn thing. Not as great as the dock I had with the Droid X though.

Exogear's Exomount for me....love it. Plus it works with all phones without having to change anything....of course i get it into car-home mode using an NFC tag.
The only thing its missing is the internal charger so yes, it does require a cable hanging...but I am willing to deal with that.

We at iBOLT are working on a solution for being able to dim the screen when in car mode. In a few weeks we'll have something more to share so be patient. Being able to dim down the screen while in car mode (Samsung sVoice or CarHome Ultra) would be great so stay tuned....
