Root Root your updated LG Marquee phone step by step.

I don't know for sure but I just downloaded all of the files in the original post and used them.

So if there is a ROM. in there that is the one that I have.

Otherwise it is the original one. I bought this phone new and I am the only one to molest it :)

Sorry for being such a dunce :)

Yea you are running the stock sw at this point. my suggestion would be to look on the forums and install CTMod 3.68, which has a built in wifi tether than utilizes the ad/hoc wireless internet ( i only advise this because blooddawn has done some amazing work to my boost mobile phones so i try to support him as much as i can) the only thing is you have to do alot of reading to troubleshoot the wireless tether to get it working, unless he fixes it in the next update. this ROM will also speed up your marquee a whole lot if your into that kinda stuff. i dont really know what else to say about getting your ipad to tether to your phone, but your in the right place and someone else will probably know much more about the subject, just give it time. srry for the long post haha

Worked for me, but there were a few things in the instructions that were a little unclear that I had to figure out, after you run windows enabler, you need to click on the quick launch icon to turn it on, also make sure you have xmlparser installed, and when you run the lg update tool KDZ_FW_UPD as admin, also select CDMA smartphone(WM) instead of CDMA which it defaults to then it worked great I installed everything then installed CDMOD and am overclocked to 1320 right now, it definitely adds the speed and responsiveness this phone needed, I had been disappointed with the performance of this phone up untill now great job on providing clear instructions so noobs can do this as well thanks a lot!!

I wanted to post here and say it worked.

I am using a Windows 7 32bit service pack 1 and I am as well a newbie

to those who are trying to do this to your boost mobile, everyone is right you do have to follow the directions and as well have patience. To be greatly honest it took me about 8 times to do, I read in here someone counted to 10 before powering it back on when clicking the launch button, and well I tried that and it worked for me as well.

I have an LG Marquee the whole process works I can guarantee that, just have patience and time.

Thank you to everyone for your help and thank you very much Jaybps3 for making the instruction guide :)

okay i've been at this since 11:00 pm last night and its now 9:00am.
How long did the average upgrade "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..." take. Nervous with brand new Marquee and seriously considering just pulling the plug....:thinking::thinking::thinking:

Also on my software update KDZ it says Extract File Error (4th line) unlike those ive read about so far?

prevail was easier to root definitly

Thank You so much, this has helped so much. I had the start up loop after update, but the factory reset worked like a charm. 1st try, and it all worked =) I have rom manager pro, paid for, and got it to install CWM np with only one touch. I'm now looking for a nice rom for this phone, with a good kernal for bat life. The whole thing took me under 10 minutes. I'm rooted, and I have this forum to thank. I have LG Marquee Boost, and its working with root =)

Not sure about you but did you disable your firewalls and your antivirus programs? That's what helped me.
