Root [ROM]Black Plague w/ Plague kernel

@ PG: ROM works great. It installed perfectly around all of my media as well as apps with zero reboots so far. Only question I have, without sifting through here first, is if anyone else has a battery issue with this ROM. Granted, I'm using the stock 1500Mah battery but this BP seems to be sucking up more battery than the original MPCS firmware did. Maybe it's just some minor power management tweaking I need to do? I'm going to try my 3850Mah battery tomorrow. With that aside, Plague is perfect and I couldn't ask for a better looking/functioning ROM :D :D
hard for me to say on the battery life as mines a dev only device aka no service. ;)

What happens if I choose to just flash the bp kernel? I'm not really feeling the whole time centered and new status bar icons on the theme. I did however keep that boot anime (super dope looking) btw.
should work fine with stock or BO. ;)

so while trying to program my connect back to my account important having all sorts of issues. important actually flashing a stock build in hope of being able to switch back issues are.

programming via *228 takes me to a rep where my programming will randomly fail.

when it doesn't the rep cannot identify the phone through the metro system

going to try manually programming myself and calling for the sim switch. wish me luck.

Did you try restoring to a stock rom first? I think you gotta do that before reprogramming or do anything through metro.

The first time I flashed BP 1.2 I had some quick reboot issues and i could not install apps without the phone rebooting either.
But afetr i restored to my backup and then dirty reflashed BP 1.2 (did not clear cache or davlik) everything has been working perfectly......except the CPU slider in Rom Toolbox. My slider still sticks at 1512 max no matter what. Now I realize that is probably more of a Rom Toolbox thread question. But I just wanted to mention it since it was bundled in BP.
Anyhow, the ROM has been great so far until i install LG Connect Optimizer by Kanaida.
Now I am getting some reboot issues, and the Rom Toolbox issue is affecting the Optimizer's settings and possibly some conflict there is causing the reboots.
I like having Rom Toolbox for things such as app management etc. but since the CPU sliders aren't behaving I have decided to do a little experiment to see if I can get Kanaida's Optimizer working, so I disabled Rom Toolbox's Superuser access.....I don't think I actively have any settings on there that require it anyways, but this wass in a effort to disable it's control of the cpu and let the Optimizer control it.
However even with superuser disabled, it did disable the sliders, but the CPU is still hitting 1512Mhz.
I am trying to get it down to a 192 minimum and a 384 maximum setting to save battery, but settings still aren't sticking.
And i am still getting reboots with LG Connect Optimizer installed.
Not sure if the cpu issues are with Rom Toolbox, Opitmizer, or BP Kernel.
I am uninstall Rom Toolbox and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise I may have to ditch Optimizer, and Rom Toolbox to see if I can set the cpu with another app.

update.

With Rom Toolbox uninstalled, the CPU is still hitting 1512 most frequently.

Optimizer by Kanaida settings aren't sticking either. Tried to set a min 192 max 384 but upon exiting Opitmizer, it sets both min and max to 192, and the cpu still hits 1512 the most, but is now hitting all speeds in between as well. Haven't ran into anymore reboots yet though.

Tried Antutu also.
Still hitting at 1512.

I deduce that it is the BP Rom/kernel.

The LG Connect already has a bad battery life, but if the cpu runs at 1512 constantly, then i can't see myself using this ROM.

I read about others having the cpu issue also, but I never did find a resolution to it.

I didn't find any working versions of debloated or deodexed ZVA Roms.

So I guess the closest i am going to get to BP is the Stock ZVA Rooted?

Thanks to droidmix we have a working link for the Stock, Rooted, Deodexed Rom, heres the link to the post that has the working (LINK) dont forget to hit the thanks button for him ;)

Just read the rest of that thread and it doesn't sound like it is quite the fix I was looking for.

The thread was a few months old though, any update to getting the cpu settings to stick?

If both BO and BP are having the issue, i may just have to go with a stock rom for now.

hust delete the init.post.boot file restart and it will stick

@Shatterproof

I thought that one is a ZV8 build though. Doesn't that build have some battery issues?

I read in the Broken Out post that cause some other issues, like with LG Optimizer.

However if it can get BP working, i would rather have that than Optimizer.

Also BP is already deodexed and debloated and ZVA.

The file does say ZV8 when its being downloaded but I figured screw it, I have a backup I can always revert back to if it dnt update lol! But when I restored it the way he instructed it went through and I looked at the about phone in my settings and my phone says ZVA.

Cool, i will have to snag that one for just in case.

For now i did the cpu fix mentioned above and deleted "/system/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh" and cpu settings stick now.
Now i just have to balance my min max and figure out which governor works best for me.

I heard this makes optimizer not work, but I was having random reboots with Optimizer anyways, at times it would reboot while the phone was asleep.

I uninstalled Optimizer about 6 hours ago and haven't had any reboots since. But I also uninstalled Juice Defender at the same time because it kept turning my data off even when the battery was full. Didn't really have any issues with JD until around the time i installed Optimizer but it may be a coincidence.

I have also had a weird WiFi issue at times where i am connected to a network but the connection hangs, like a page will never load, or an app that needs internet access will just perpetually attempt to connect. Sometimes turning it off then back on fixes it, but not always, I haven't been able to quite pinpoint the problem.
My wife has the same exact phone, but hers is completely stock, and has zero WiFi issues, like we literally are sitting on the couch connected to the same network and hers works fine, so it must be some setting in my phone.

But I digress.... Anyhow, the phone w/BP1.2 actually seems to run much smoother now that the cpu isn't stuck at 1512. And i am just using Rom Toolbox to do control the CPU settings, so I guess i didn't really need the LG Connect Optimizer, but in theory having an optimizer built specifically to that phone would be ideal.

I may give the optimizer another chance though to see if i still get reboots now that the CPU settings are repaired. If it will run with the init.qcom.post_boot.sh missing, but i doubt it will, I think Kanaida actually said in a post that it is required for Optimizer to run.

Maybe BP 1.3 will have the init.qcom.post_boot.sh fixed, or whatever needs fixing for the CPU settings, than I can maybe try Optimizer again then.

I'm a total noob so I probably don't have any business rooting my phone & using custom ROMs, but we've all gotta start somewhere right?

I tried flashing this with no luck. I dunno if I'm doing something wrong or not. I'm tapping on the file under the downloads list in the browser and trying to install it from there, but all I'm getting is a notice saying that the app wasn't installed.

I honestly just want to get M studio up and running again. My wife is pregnant with our third daughter and it's high risk. This means a lot of trips to various doctor's offices with our other two kids. It's nice to be able to throw free Disney show up on my phone to keep the kids quiet while we wait.

If I'm doing it wrong, could somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

copy it to system/app, but it should sideload (install from sdcard) too.

Question: my mms messages aren't coming thru, how do I fix? And fyi I'm using BP 1.0
Thats prolly not a issues with the ROM, other will need to confirm this tho.

I can't remember but I believe metrostudio has an .odex file too....

I get mms on bp 1.0 though... I'm on 1.2 now...I think.... version number really should be amened to the "device info" area.
