Most people support Samsung over Apple

I thought it was just greed, plain and simple?

Btw, grats on the guideness promotion!

To be fair, Apple's reasons are a little more involved than that. Samsung did borrow a few more ideas for their early phones than they should have. They also documented their intention in e-mail. Dumb!

But Apple's lawsuit, I suspect, has more to do with the fact Samsung started outselling and out campaigning them a year ago. Their "The Next Big Thing Is Already Here" ads have been brilliant at needling Apple.

Fact is Apple is showing a bit of fear. For the first time, they don't have the de facto best smartphone on the market. Android has stabilized to a fluid, buttery experience. Between the Amazon and Play stores, customers have an ecosystem to rival iTunes. Hardware from Samsung, HTC and Motorola is gorgeous. Android is the first to come out with big screens, NFC and LTE. There are many more reasons for non-techie consumers to chose Android phones over iPhone. That is DISASTROUS to Apple. Most of their revenue comes from iPhone sales. If they don't make the premiere phone anymore their revenue will plummet.

I doubt Apple wants to block all competitors out of simple greed. They just aren't prepared to go back to being that quaint specialized company they were pre-iPod days. I actually feel a bit sorry for them.

I have been annoyed with them for years because of this.. if you don't agree that they are a monopoly you should at least agree that they almost seem to be trying to become one

I myself have started to just stay away from anything apple as my little stand-alone boycott. It may not amount to much but I am just done with Apple for now

I hate Apple's lawsuits but i agree Samsung did need to be stopped. They were trying to practically clone the iPhone, stealing many visual features. However i feel that a US company + a US court is going to try to side for US over some other country.

Some people buy Android phones or tablets thinking they are iPads or iPhones. It says the name of the device and company right on the box. People cant be this stupid. Of course some people refer to any tablet as an "iPad", though they know its an Android tablet.

Patents such as Pinch Zoom, Slide Unlock, and many other similar patents shouldnt even be patents. I hate that Apple uses the legal system to hurt competition. And they claim they invent all this stuff when they take existing things and polish them up into their own brand.

I still think Apple has been in a snit since some exclusive programs that originally ran only on Apple got added to the Windows stable. This was mostly design work. Adobe, Quark, Macromedia. I was in school just after those programs were available for Windows. They cross-platformed just fine. This meant that instead of buying Apple computers for some businesses, these businesses could just buy the programs.

It wasn't just brand in some cases - the IT department had problems. Keeping only one OS was just more effective. With different virii hitting Apple and Linux, I can imagine what IT can be going through with if company uses all 3 OS.

It it still happening today - BB used to be the phone of choice, since the Iphone and Android and BYOD policies, it can be harder for IT to keep up security.
