Good Headphones for Galaxy S3

Looking for some new in-ear headphones around the $150 range. I've used the Bose MIE2i's with my iPhone for the past 2 years but have since given them to the ball-and-chain. There are great for running (which I do a fair amount of) but lack sound isolation and good bass.

What I'm looking for in the new ones are: good bass response, sound isolation, a functional inline remote (play/pause, volume up/down, etc.), and stay in my ears even when exercising. A double or triple flange earpiece would be a nice addition as well.

Any ideas?

i would stay away from bose for the same money you can get stuff that is way out of their league. for iems get the ones that go around the ear to eliminate some of the microphonics. I have these and they are great. but i wear them just straight down since they dont stay in my ear when i go around the ear.

Amazon.com: sennheiser cx6

Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 Noise Isolating Earphones: Electronics

amazon has a great return policy so if you dont like them just return them for a 5$ shipping charge

the sennheiser's i abuse the ***t out of them. I use them for work outs, working on the field on a tractor, dropped them, stepped on them and their still trucking along just great. They have a 3yr warranty so when its time i'll just send them in for a new pair.

I think the most important point to make is that earphones which feature an inline controller are unlikely to work flawlessly with Android. This is because most are made for iThings and, at the very least, the volume controls are unlikely to work.

There are a few earphones made for Android, and you can easily Google them, but one example would be these, although there may still be compatibility issues:

The best earphones I've ever owned are these, although they might not suit you, given that you are a runner. But their sonic performance is stunning and, even after months of use, they still manage to reveal amazing musical detail and subtlety.

The CX6's don't have an inline remote. So nay on those. Have you used the TripleFi's extensively? If so, can you share your experiences with them pertaining to my outline?

I have these: Klipsch - Image S4 Earbud Headphones - S4 KLIPSCH

Here's a version with a remote (also has a mic): Klipsch - Image S4i Earbud Headphones with Microphone and 3-Button Remote - KLIPSCH S4I

Perhaps not exactly what you were asking for, but I've had them for almost a year and enjoy them, so I thought I'd give my two cents. I can't guarantee they would stay in your ears during exercise, though.

Hope you find just what you're looking for.

I've been looking at the S$A II's. Apparently there are compatibility issues with the inline volume controls on the S3, however. I also can't find anywhere that sells them in or will ship to Canada.

I own the S4A's and the sound is amazing (added bonus with Beats audio with my One X) but the downfall is the software that is downloadable through the market. Better to pass on the actual Klipsch app and try Jays headphone control app.

Heard the same thing. Apparently there's a couple second delay when you press the remote buttons.

I have a set of Bose mie2s. I got them for around $50 and id say thats pretty much all theyre worth. Definitely would have been unhappy if I paid full price for them. I have used Sennheiser and Klipsch in the past and neither have let me down. For the price of the mie2's, either the senns or the klipschs are going to be FAR superior

Yeah the MIE2's at my local Bestbuy are $150. Not worth it.

I've tried both the stock headphones and the headphones from my old Epic 4G - and both get a lot of static/noise when the cables are moved while on the call.

I don't hear any problems on my end - it's only on the other end of the call.

I've checked this with several other GS3's and they have the same problem - so it's not specific to my GS3 or with the specific headphone - appears to be a design issue with the GS3 - which I did not have with my old Epic 4G.

If I'm careful not to move around while using the headphones - it works OK. But if I move - the other end of the call gets static.

Has anyone found wired headphones that work without static issues?

I have a set of TripleFi 10's that I've used for about 10 months now. Simply amazing IEMs. You'll have to find the right tips for your ears, but the foam tips that they came with do the trick for me. Musically, they are just superb. I've heard better with open-air headphones, and I know that there are better IEMs out there, but you'd be hard pressed to find them for under $200, in my estimation.

Now, per your requirements, one big issue is that they do not include an in-line mic or volume controls. That said, you can swap out the cable that they come with for one with a mic and controls. I can't remember if there is one available from Ultimate Ears/Logitech or not, but there are definitely pro-quality custom cables available. Head over to Head-Fi.org - Headphone forums and reviews for audiophiles and do some poking around.

No issue with the TripleFi 10's, but what you need to be looking at is the material of the cords. Some have a cloth type jacket over them, which tend to be the worst. You want a low friction material on the cord. Think of the sound made when you rub your fingers over corduroy. That is happening on a smaller scale with certain types of headphones. It is only amplified up the cord.

You can get the Klipsch S3 buds for under $100 and sound great for the price. Two discrete drivers that help instrument and vocal separation well.

I would also recommend Klipsch. I have the S4's and love'em. They can also be found for under $100 on the interwebs.

Fine headphones if you agree with the sound signature. Klipsch has always been too bright of a sound for me...with all of their products. They have their niche and they execute it well, it just isn't for me.

I've had the triplefi's for about 5 years now this is before logitech acquired them. I love these things, has a neutral sound to them, good sound iso, very detailed , some people say they are a little bass heavy i think they are pretty well balanced. The only downside for me is that none of the ear pieces fitted right. I had to buy some foam aftermarket ones. For them meeting your requirements, they dont have inline controls.

i recommend the cx6 cause they sound great and to me i have never used any other pair that stay on like they do for physical activities . I even use them when i'm on my bike cause they sit flush in your ears and my helmet can go over them without any restrictions and irritations.

i think your gonna have to choose either sound and comfort or controls. But I dont think you can have the best of both. here check this out form head-fi
