Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

While the camera is not working I have fixed some major things. This is from my 9/4 build after I had thrown in the towel for a while due to burn out. I just noticed the damn keys where lit up on when I turned on the phone just a few minutes ago. So I figured lets install netflix and sure enough it's working perfect!!! I am sorry I didn't release this sooner I just didn't notice until today that all these things where fixed. I made major changes to the permissions files based on our X6 sisters. Anyways I moved this into beta as the only thing really wrong is the camera and hdmi and tethering.

*Also the audio bug is back like in CM7 but I will fix that this weekend when I remove the Apollo app.

The audio bug you fix just forces audio to a state where the opamp outputs super low. In no rom have I seen this worked out and you still have to do the tricks to switch the opamp into some other state.

I will look into this it could be because the libaudio files is not proper based on our device. Is there further info you can give me on this?

I flashed to this rom and tested netflix as asked, I get the following message:

"Connection error
We're Unable to connect to Netflix. Please try again later."

I have attempted it 4 times over a span of 30 minutes, and all ended the same.

Tried it with a known working device and works fine.

Sorry I wanted you to pull out the boot.img from cm9 ROM and move it into the cm10 ROM and test Netflix on CM10.

I just wanted to point out that hulu plus now works as well. Thanks for the update!!

Also, wanted to say that maybe your issue with netflix was because you hadnt updated it? It's working fine for me.

Is the phone crashing and rebooting after about 30 cumulative minutes of video still a thing? I kept seeing that on the previous build from August. And I think it might annoy some of you who are going to be using Netflix and Hulu.

Four some reason recent builds of cm9 have given me infinite su requests, and most of my normal root apps don't work properly. Has anyone else has this issue?

Try using supersu from the play store rather then superuser.

Same here. To fix it, I had to go into Superuser and select "tap to check for updates". It'll display 3 lines of text and then you have to hit the update button. It'll download and force install the latest bits. That's what worked for me.

My Triumph crashes and restarts after the display times out on the home screen or the lock screen. Attempting to wake the device via lock button after the display timeout results in a blank screen followed by boot animation. I've flashed 9/4 beta twice now with the same result. Upgraded from CM7 8/10.

Everything else seems solid. Great work so far!

I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong here. I've never been able to restore a nandroid backup of this ROM. I am able to restore CM7 just fine when I want to switch over to use the camera, but when I try to go back to CM9 I just get "error restoring system". I am using CWM 5.0.2.6. Anybody else have this problem?

Uninstall SU from the market, reinstall, restart the phone, then update the binaries. Worked for me.

This is a great rom, just wanna say. Been using it for a couple weeks now and its still super snappy. Took me a while to figure out holding down the home button brings you to recent apps.

I have. I just chopped it up to Alpha status.
It's the only way I can get alpha status.

I know nothing about the code or libaudio, though the original headphone error still persists in every rom I've tried. There seem to be two states. One where it outputs seemingly line level audio, and one where it actually amplifies the signal. When you get a notification sound, it drops like 6dB for _everything_, not just temporarily. This has been an issue since VM released the phone.

After you get a notification sound you have to make a call, hit speakerphone, dial numbers and then _maybe_ it will go into the high output again. I've also found playing certain songs and letting them play to the end and then starting a new song will change it back to loud audio.

It's still in every ROM I've tried CM7,CM9,CM10 Sharp, and Stock. It makes it very hard to plug into a FM car transmitter

This has been the first release since Miui to get me to switch. Nice work.

As stated above from someone else, I cannot get gps to work properly either.

Oh, and I'm not sure if it's just me, but the lights on the buttons aren't lighting up. They seem to work, but there is no lights currently.

It works on the 8/16 build, as I use it every day. I don't restore anything from previous builds though - whenever installing a new rom I always do a factory reset and wipe both caches before installing and then download and configure all apps from scratch. It's a real pain in the ass but I think it's the only way to guarantee you won't get any weirdness.

Not sure if that could be contributing to your problem, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

ETA: Then again, since mdoggie is having the same issue, maybe it got broken between builds?
