I now keep everything on constantly including blue tooth. Bt impacts the battery roughly double for me so instead of typically 0.25% per hour overnight i now lose 0.5% per hour. This is good enough for me.

My wifi policy is set to never sleep and I've always set it to this, but there are issues with data usage if set to the "plugged in" policy when it goes into sleep and even (i believe) when set to "always" and coming back into wifi range from 3g data (ie returning back home from somewhere) and the screen has not been switched on.

Turning off fast dormancy improves battery greatly when outside of any wifi range. (*#9900#)

I always leave my sync on and never use any power "saving" app.

Obviously if i was away somewhere with no charger i would turn gps, bt and sync off and turn off wifi altogether if not in range of any remembered router and put into flight mode if critically low and needed an alarm wake up.

I'd just like to share what I feel are pretty impressive battery stats. I'm very impressed with NEAT

The large drop off you can see is me having a relatively long browsing session over a poor 3G signal.

I like neat rom but one kinda annoying thing I find is that the Wifi "auto-scanner" is set really low, like it will scan for networks only once per minute or so.
This means when I come into range of an associated network it can take a while for the phone to realise it and connect, unless I go into settings and click "Scan". This is particularly relevant on the London Underground where I want it to connect to the wifi in the stations as I go through them without having to prompt the phone.

Is there a way to change this setting? I would be willing to sacrifice some battery life to have this feature back.

This is by design and is in fact a great way to save battery.

If this is not for you then you can alter /system/build.prop accordingly:

wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=60

This scans once a minute

I installed the latest Neat ROM LPX and would like to add swype to it. How can I get swype that comes with the phone and how or where should I paste it.
I can also installed swyoe beta but I think it uses more ram and also keeps running in background. Is this right?
Thanks!

Swype will always be running.
Swype download

By the way, sometimes when I try to install and set up Swype on a new ROM I hit FC problems.
If so:
1. Uninstall swype with Titanium
2. delete /data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod
3. delete data/app/Swype.apk
4. Reboot
5. Install the above apk as normal

In which case, you need to try to rebuild your media cache.
delete the following folders and reboot:
/sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
/sdcard/android/data/com.cooliris.media
/sdcard/android/data/com.google.android.gallery3d
/sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
/sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails
/sdcard/DCIM/100andro
/sdcard/LOST.DIR
/sdcard/external_sd/DCIM/.thumbnails
/sdcard/external_sd/DCIM/100andro
/sdcard/external_sd/LOST.DIR

Before doing this it won't hurt to manually touch a .nomedia file in any folder that you know you will never want any pics/mp3's etc being detected by relevant apps. Remember the file is recursive, so creating the file in a particular folder will mean that folder and all of its sub folders will be omitted. Pay particular attention to your internal SD as this is where the problem seems to lie.

Give this a try and see if it makes any difference

thanks dude, you suggested this before when i mentioned the prob ages ago, alas to no avail. camera still inoperative for approx 20 mins after boot due to media scanner running. when i'm here, do you have a "Q" battery mod for LPI? that's the best i can describe it, i think it was created by a bloke called criskelo or summat, i think i saw it on one of your screengrabs a while back.

Is it like one of these simes6600?

Not that I think those will work... just to give the old boy an idea of what you're wanting. I think I've seen the, "C", style battery mod in one of the old fella's screenies.

What colour were you after?

(Young Frankenstein... or is it Frankensteen, was on TV about 6 hours ago and every time I saw Igor... or should that be Eyegor, all I could think of was simes6600!)

lush. thanks ironass, that's the one, C-style. looks like its just one mod with multi colours depending on battery level. had this on checkrom v6 and even found a mod for it on revolution remix, but am back on Neat LPI tryin to figure out this media scanner prob, and thought i might as well try and get my old fave battery mod while i'm at it.

edit: seemed to have fixed my media scanner prob. only taking a couple of mins now as opposed to around 20. found that the artwork folder in playerpro had a complete ton of files, so took hawkers advice and stuck a .nomedia file in there. happy :)

I'm not totally sure which one you want, but if my hunch is correct, then I remember doing the one i think it might be a few months back.

This one should work on any JKay ICS framework.
It will NOT work on non-Jkay (ICS or otherwise)

Im assuming this theme will not work on XXWLPX?
