Mitt Romney and the Cayman Islands

I agree..... everyone should pay the exact same tax rate...... its about time the freeloaders actually pay some....... as for his worker making "45K" she paid ZERO in taxes is my guess (Id have to know more about her to state that as fact.... but based on policy my guess is she actually received a higher refund than she actually paid in) ....... so her rate was probably much lower in reality.... like zer0

I really don't see how the different tax rates isn't legal discrimination. Just because I payed to go to college and someone else didn't doesn't mean that I should pay more in taxes.

I agree on a national sales tax. Then it is actually fair and equal. The poor buy less dollar value, so they would pay less. The rich spend more and would pay more

I've had an economics professor who used to say the same thing. I actually agree with that, tax people on what they spend, and not what they make.

You do realize that those earning $250k a year didn't just wake up and find themselves there. They worked to get there. Was some of it being in the right place at the right time? Sure. But you don't earn that much a year while simultaneously being a complete moron. If you're stupid, it'll catch up to you. Why should they not be entitled to the fruits of their labors?

Exactly!

Decision 2012: Anyone but Obama.

Pretty much my Thought as well.

The problem lies in the reality that most of the 250k+ people pay a lower tax rate than those under 100 k. That, my friend, is where fair is not fair at all.

I don't follow you. Do you mean a lower percentage of their income perhaps?

This is why I favor either a flat tax or a consumption tax. the latter would tax you on what you spend. Even drug dealers and embezzlers would pay this tax. You can hide income as you please; as soon as you spend some of it, the tax is paid.

It does not discriminate because everyone pays the same rate.

That said, part of the deal is we eliminate federal income tax. We do not want that hiding and waiting to bite us.

Get rid of the differential tax rate between earned income and capital income, it just causes gaming the system.

Progressive taxes evens up the playing field as the wealthy have undue influence in government. Progressive taxes also incentives the wealthy to support good governance as they have more to lose.

The main reason to support progressive taxation is reality, as voodoo economics doesn't work, progressive taxation does as our economy grows due to public investments and deficits remain manageable.

The externality of the "gas shocks" in the 70's was just a wake-up call that we were dependent on nonrenewal fuels, not that the economic system that got us out of the great depression didn't work.

Romney got started with "bust out" financing from Michael Milken. Romney took no risk, money invested in takeover companies was soon repaid by taking on debt to pay Romney for the investment, plus fees. The companies were then forced to cut wages, benefits and workers to make debt payments. These tactics often hollowed out the company which resulted in bankruptcy with the government forced to cover the gutted pension funds. Romney always got his money upfront.

Romney is not a businessman, he shifts wealth from companies and workers to his bank account.

Yeah, it blows me away that rush Limbaugh is the #1 radio personality. Statistics like that make me understand why our country is in the shape it is in.

Every time the other sides tries radio (remember Air America?) they fail. Limbaugh is highly rated and number 1 for a reason. Do you really think listeners are stupid?

Are you aware of the infamous Harry Reid letter?

From wikepedia: "On October 2, 2007, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wrote a letter to Mark P. Mays, President and CEO of Clear Channel Communications, who is Limbaugh's chief patron. In it Senator Reid essentially demanded that Mays order Limbaugh to apologize for remarks he made concerning "phony soldiers."

A phony soldier is someone who is not a soldier at all but is pretending to be one, especially in a public forum. Such activity is unlawful, and the faker whose activity prompted Limbaugh's attacks has since been convicted and punished.

This letter was co-signed by nearly all Democratic senators. In a speech in Philadelphia on October 11th, Limbaugh announced plans to sell the original letter on eBay in a charity auction. The proceeds went to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. The letter sold for $2.1 million and Limbaugh matched the winning amount with a total of $4.2 million being donated."

Absolutely nothing any democratic radio personality would garner such attention or cash. Keep in mind that Reid wasted your money and the time of nearly every democrat (rather, nearly every democrat wasted your money) in an effort to silence a citizen for freely speaking the truth. Consider the implications of THAT for a moment.

The fact of the matter is, Rush was spot on. He called some people phony soldiers because they were. Rush was talking about fake soldiers trying various scams to raise cash or further some crazy cause.

He was very clear and very specific about who he was talking about and he was spot on. He did not lie and he was NOT talking about every soldier. If you listen to Rush, you will understand that he loves and respects our men and women in uniform.

Few people that comment on Rush and his show actually listen to it and that is very sad.

To save time, post the link. Of course your last posted link was a lobbyist front group. Hey, we're human, we can all be snookered.

Lets face it they give us a choice of 2 guys they pick, they all stand for the same thing make the wealthy wealthier. That's the truth but most people cnt think for themselves so they vote cuss of an add that they just dnt understand.

They dont really, its just a case of one being a centrist and the other being hard right. If you dont want the wealthier getting wealthier you need to vote for for Socialists, of which none will ever get elected in the US with a first past the post system.

Greed and Debt: The True Story of Mitt Romney and Bain Capital | Politics News | Rolling Stone

An excellent piece that details Romney's underhanded and ruthless business tactics that he employed at Bain Capital. An absolute must read.

Romney is a locust, eats everything in his path, leaving the country in ruins. We will need a lot of pesticide. From your source p.4

"Romney was right in the middle of this radical change. In fact, according to The Boston Globe
