Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

i cant get scripts to run through terminal when i place them in xbin
and my phone isnt deep sleeping with wifi on

I haven't messed with scripts in xbin, but I could suggest to check the permissions, make sure they are executable by what is trying to execute them.

WiFi not allowing the phone to deep sleep is to prevent a system lock up with the WiFi on. I think chairshot has figured out a better library that doesn't require the fix, but that will have to wait until he gives it the go ahead for use. That will require a mod in the kernel to go with it.

Frikin I updated to the latest MTDEV-CM7 build 19 and the camera keeps force closing after i try to use the front facing camera, and i just flashed the rom again, any help?

I'm running the same code and I can use both of my cameras. My FFC does take pictures that are a mirror of what is shown on the preview. We will need to look into that. Again, chairshot has a bunch of libraries that he's working with, so well see.

Mr.g60madman I Have A Question if you were to estimate have long would it take to be finished and thanx for you time

Finished with what? This ROM went into final status before, and may do it again. If you look at the thread looking for beta testers you can see how the libraries are moving along. On top of that, if we see something that we think we can back port, we will.

Video Playback:
My previous recommendation was Dice Player, because it was the only player using fully internal decoders capabilities (like playing .avi file using internal decoders)
Just wanted to share with you guys, that MX Player just got updated with hardware decoding+ codecs. Choose H/W+ decoder in settings - no flicker, no lags, divx play doesn't require software decoding, I haven't tested 720p yet, but so far no lags on mp4 or avi files. Please try it and report.

i could not recommend any video player but mx player.

All this is, is the same kernel with all but the 2GHz frequency enabled.:hello:

:listen:What I would like for you to do is run it for a day or more and post a screen shot of the usage table from system tuner or the data shown in setCPU

:deal:What I am trying to do is see if some of the frequencies are used enough to justify their existance. This should reduce the load caused by the governor landing on a frequency that isn't high enough and then having to bump again. Of corse this will affect the governors that don't do the bounce thing to make a fake , in between frequency.

:shakehands:Let me know.

PS, I'm testing it now myself:hmmmm:

∙ Replaced multiple lib files from WelcoM, Sharp, Andro-ID
∙ Updated gps.conf
∙ Updated system.prop

These updates assist in better overall performance (Video, Sound, Wifi, GPS). This build was completed by Chairshot. On behalf of all the developers of MTDEV, we truly appreciate all those that took time to help us with our Beta Test as this has allowed us to once again make CM7 a better ROM. We will slowly be migrating these fixes into CM9 and CM10.

For the most part moved in a small percentage of the files used in the two test Roms posted previously. Instead of adding all the files at once figured it best rolling out the updated files in increments. The idea is replacing the proprietary files not built from source and mostly taken from stock Froyo with files compiled for Gingerbread from our x6 variant cousins.

Also, big fan of VitalPlayer.

My hat is off to the MTDEV Team. I'm trying CM7 for the first time. My primary phone is a GNex, but my wife and daughter both have MT's. I loaded IsaacJ's MIUI on those two phones last November and have not found another ROM compelling enough to change to. Until today. I've just installed the 20120915 build with Holo Launcher and HDWidgets and must really compliment everyone on the polish that went into, and continues to go into this ROM. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved here. Much appreciated, and keep up the good work. I'll be keeping an eye on the MTDEV bunch for sure.

Cool. I'm definitely up for this. I always run 60-1.5 and there are several speeds that have never been used. Testing now.

I guess I went the wrong way on min freq? Using No Frills, I went 245-1.5. What governor and i/o scheduler are you using. SmartassV2 and SIO here. I will give min freq of 60 a try for usability, but I initially thought it would wake up too slow. Should help battery life. Good stuff.

DOUGH:hmmmm2:
Now I need to see if there any changes to for the kernel.

I also always have mine set to 60-1500 because I found that if I went any higher than 1500 my phone would reboot a lot

If you guys could do me a favor, stick with either interactive or ondemand. I need the simpler governors to have clean data. Also, could you hit reset on your frequency data so it isn't showing a combonation of new and old data.

Thank you

PS: Oh, no need to clear caches and stuff.

sorry, smartass 2. I'll switch and report again.

Surely the answer must be somewhere already, that I just am not seeing, but I have a question.

I understand that when switching to a new ROM, it is necessary to do a factory wipe, install the ROM, and install all your apps and data over that.

For the first time, I am looking at installing a newer version of the same ROM I already am using, having installed the 20120819 version of this ROM not very long ago. Do I have to wipe my phone before I install, this, and restore all my apps and data afterward, or can I just flash this over my extant earlier version of the same ROM, and expect everything else to work?
