So i rooted my Maxx, installed safestrap. Then I went into safe mode, installed the Cyanogen10 JB rom for it. Now when i boot my phone, safestrap is gone. Since I did a factory wipe/cache wipe before installing the ROM, does it mean i have to reinstall safestrap? I installed this cyanogen mod and now i dont get service at all. Plus im not gonna be able to stand not having a working camera app. At this point I would like to wipe everything and go back to just regular ROM rooted.

Any ideas? Fast responses would be great since right now I dont have a phone with service lol..

Safestrap should still be there. When you reboot your phone does it come to the splash screen where is says press menu to go to recover or search to continue?

The app isn't going to show up in your app drawer unless you restore it with titanium. But the recovery is still installed

No it doesnt because the cyanogenmod splash screen just comes up. I have figured out that the .apk is still on my memory card, but I dont have a file manager to install it. Nor can i download one because the rom doesnt support wifi, and for some reason i get no signal(trash ROM). What I did for now, is mounted my phone(which i had a working rom on for some reason on the root of the phone), transfered that ROM to my SD card via the computer and will try to use regular recovery to flash that rom that i renamed update.zip

UNLESS you know of a way for me to install this .apk to my phone without service, wifi, or a file manager.

The only possible way to do this from what I have researched is using adb shell which I am absolutely horrid on.

So if anyone wants to lend a helping hand, please feel free. I have the safestrap APK named Safe.Apk and it is on the root of the SD card. So from there, how am i using adb to install it?

Or you could also plug your sd card (or phone) into your computer, move the apk from the sd card to the internal storage, and then you should be able to use the stock files app to navigate to it. Assuming the rom the file app anyway

Edit: the file app might be a motorblur feature because I don't have it on my artic hd rom. You're best bet is probably to do the utility option

Did you make a back up before you flashed? If so, download matts utility 1.81 and use the option to go back to stock ics, from there you can root and restore your backup, assuming you made one:thumbup:
I did using safestrap, but the only way to restore is by using safestrap, which isnt on my phone anymore..

Only possible way to do it is using adb..

Okay good that you made a backup. Should be easy to recover.

Google search matts utility 1.81 and download(it's like 2 gb so it might take a while)

Boot into ap fastboot mode on your phone (power off, hold all 3 buttons, select fastboot)

Open the utility

Plug your phone in and use the option that says return to stock ics 211(I believe it's option 1)

When it finishes, use the option that says ics root

Once your phone is rooted, boot it back up and download a file explorer, I recommend es file explorer, and install safestrap (make sure it's safestrap 2.11, if not download it and install it)

Open the app and install the recovery

Reboot into recovery, if your recovery is on the unsafe system then DONT toggle safe, if it is on the safe system then toggle it

Restore your backup from the backup and restore menu.

Profit.
