Help Terrible Bluetooth sound quality since 4.1 & 4.0.4

Hi, a bit of an update for you. On July 21 I mailed two letters via snail mail to the VPs of customer service and consumer relations at Samsung and VZW. I explained the problem that I am having with my SGN VZW and provided a link to this thread. No reply as of yet. I am a consultant to corporations and I know first hand that snail mail actually gets a lot of attention and it's not ignored. Hoping for a resolution.

I wish VZW would release Jelly Bean soon.

Thanks for the update. Hope you get some kind of answer from them. This problem is quite ridiculous to say the least.

I just got a rather what I would call insulting email from a higherup in the VZW echelon. They certainly need a lesson in how to communicate with their better customers. I have been with them for about 13 years. I pay my bills on time, I buy their most expensive phones.

the core of the letter is that, they would offer me a one time refurbished Motorola Razr. Take or leave it.

What an insult. This is like Mercedes customer service would say, sorry you are having trouble with one of our S Class, we are willing to offer you a Honda Civic certified preowned.

Disgusting.

The first thought that I had after reading that note from a so called Executive Correspondent was that VZW I am switching to another carrier. Arrogant penny pinchers with no sense of customer service.

sounds like a blowoff to me. any way to escalate it? I'll do my best to test BT with the new JB radios this weekend for ya.

I too had noticed poor bluetooth quality on the 4.0.4 radios; flashed back to the previous radios which improved the bluetooth audio but brought back the 3g drops and handoff issues. Since installing the new JB radios, the drops/handoffs are much improved, as is the bluetooth audio quality (based on about 4 calls yesterday in my car). Seems to be the best of both worlds so far.

I didn't respond to that idiot who wrote me, I emailed his boss citing my disbelief in how insulting that offer is. and complained, that email is a text book example of what NOT to send to one of your better customers.
although I emailed his boss, the same dude resent his previous email, as if my emails are being intercepted by him or are never seen by his boss (more likely never seen). So I wrote again to his boss' boss this time. I'll see if the same due will copy and past his original note again.

Excellent! Trooper and I both realized that the 4.0.2 radios were not giving BT issues and the 4.0.4 were, so good to see that this is confirmed across several people.

Of course, he was a quitter and went to GSM Nexus... :p

i guess no reply to my last query.

well I have two new points.

1. I am not getting anywhere with VZW about my issue.

2. I am noticing that my BT range has been cut in half. Really I walk away from the phone 12 feet, it starts to get staticy....

time to either switch carriers or just get a new phone.

I am out of solutions here....

Sorry man, still have it in my email to respond. My short answer is that the BT volume is better. I still need to do some quality checks, but so far, no one is talking through water.

However, I have been fighting an LTE and CDMA drop issue, so until I get some stuff resolved, the jury is still out for me.

i've checked in on this thread every now and then, but it doesn't seem to be gaining much traction with the community as a whole. seems like a weird issue that affects a very small subset of users. a poll might give better insight on the pervasiveness?

i for one haven't had this issue (on ics or jb) and i use a two different motorola bt headsets. a h730 for around 1-3 hrs of work calls daily. an s9 when at the gym to listen to music (also has phone call features).

there must be some other combination of issues that causes this to happen. has anyone tried to narrow it down to type of connection perhaps? only on wifi, 3g, 4g, etc?

i have a vzw galaxy nexus fwiw...
