Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

I'm not much of a gamer so I would have to say my all time favorite app is Assistant? Has anyone tried it? It's free and it makes me laugh at Siri and iPhone users. So many people paid lotsa $$$ for the iphone 4s just for Siri. Now android has Assistant for free. rofl!!!

For you s3 guys how does this compare to s voice? I'm playing w this now

I have AVG (free) and it seems to work well, with no, or very little, ads that I know of.
Yes, it "seems" to work well.. because you're more than likely not being stupid and downloading apps and files from random sites throughout the internet... there's honestly no real "need" for Virus protection on Android phones other than people trying to make money on the mass population that buys it

Remote Droid predates Gmote, it's neither bogus nor fake. :D

If you like Aldiko, try Mantano Reader. :)

Also, check out Dice Player.

Welcome to the forums! :)

Remote droid is working surely but has so many glitches. It stops or hangs every now and then. Doesnt even have a dedicated page scroller which you need essentially yo surf the web pages on the net. It doesnt have the dedicated remote for the vlc media player which many use as a default video player on their pc. It also doesnt have the feature of adding the various pc hard drive directories into the phone and then surfing them locally on the phone. Remote Droid doesnt predate remote server. Hell it predates nothing. It should be fed to predators or aliens ass....

EarlyMon you suggest first and test later. Hell I had a wrong impression about the "Dice Player" coz I have so much faith in you. I consider you authority on the Android platform but Dice Player is such a let down. It doesnt have animated library to start with. Doesnt even play .idx and .sub subtitle files. Doesnt give pop-out or PiP option while playing the common flash or .flv files. All it does is announce that it is downloading new codecs every now and then which makes the people with crappy in built videoplayers a false sense of satisfaction that they have solved the video player issue. MxPlayer does all that but the built in player in Samsung Galaxy S 3 has never crashed or failed me so far. Ive tried all the formats, even
broken .mkv files.Maybe this Dice Player is meant for people with obsolete android handsets but then again MxPlayer is way better than Dice Player but that doesnt mean your other suggestions were poor.
Hell you are still authority on android apps and the moderator of this thread....
Thanx bro....

Hi everyone...
Im back today with my new app list. The old one covered kind of must have apps but the list
Im posting today is especially for the gamers and those who have less space on thier in built
Android devices will not have much to do with this post. So ill have something in the end for them too and its a very very special video makin app!!
So lets start with our very special games...
*Sports Games- FIFA 12, Virtua Tennis Pro(both are killer sports games and fifa 12 takes around more than 1GB of phone built in sd card space but have intuitive controls and very nice graphics)

*Shoot em up games- Dead Space, Dead Trigger(zombie shooter intense game),Modern Combat 3,Front Line commando,
Gun Strike,Max Payne mobile(which strangely is not for Galaxy s3 or S2 users but i have seen videoes of people playing on their samsung galaxy s3 on youtube.kindly someone solve this mystery for me,it'll be very much appreciated.lm a big fan ot max payne series and its famous pathbreaking "bullet-time" feature)

*Sand Box type games- GTA-3(for the people who like open ended missions in a non linear fashion and explore the enviornment)

*Car Racing Games- Real Racing 2, Raging thunder 2, Need for speed hot pursuit(but im not much of a fan of the new use the phone as stearing feature, where phone is tilted left and right in the landscape mode.It just doesnt work. It oversteers your car no matter how hard you try.The built in gyroscope is not yet sensitive enough thus every game of this type should come with an alt control feature)

Now the turn for the non gamers. Im talking about an App called "Ultimate Special FX". Its
a killer app where you can make a video and this app will introduce a special effect to this video like missile falling,a car rolling and tumbling towards you etc. Watch its video on youtube and you will realise what Im talking about.you can directly share this video on facebook or twitter. I had never seen anything like this before. Try it out. And this app is not very data extensive like some games I mentioned above.

Some other apps are-"Facebook Mobile" a very fast and light version of the facebook which posts and tracks facebook even for the people who have crappy 2g networks just like WhatsApp does. You can also use Facebook Messenger for those who chat a lot on facebook and have slow mobile internet connections...
Thanx guys, your appreciation makes me find and post only the newest and best apps for you so keep em coming.....

one game i forgot to mention is "Blood and Glory". Its a Roman era game where you are a gladiator. here you block the attacks with a shield and strike with a sword by slicing motion on your touch screen. It has two versions. there is one version where blood is shown and another where its not shown. The NR version is better and the game is not very data extensive. Its below 150 MB and the kind of game where you buy extra weapons and abilities from the Play Store. It resembles apples game Infinity Blade but it makes more sense as a gladiator game. Game in itself is free but upgrades cost money so worth trying....

Sat with a friend last night - him with Siri on an iPhone and me with Assistant on my SII. Spent a while putting the same phrases into each phone and have to say, Siri won hands down. Not even close. If it had been a boxing match, the referee would have stopped it. I sat there quite embarrassed at the ineptitude of Assistant.

Having had a tweaked upgraded siri id have to agree. S voice needs a serious update and I haven't heard any rumors of that happening.

Have you guys tried skyvi; im very impressed with its speed but still but 100% on punt like siri:mad:

VA is good, but using both devices, the voice recognition for me on my S3 is dead on with VA, my Iphone 4 was useless for VR. If you're looking for a "SiRi" like assistant, I would suggest "Robin" in Play Store, it's free and it's a pretty close match to SiRi IMO. I've been using it for about a week now and loving it.

Honestly, these voice assistant things are gimmicky, they are kind of cool "show off" features but for practical daily usage, I find them more of a hassle then useful. (again, IMO) :)

Good Luck!

I would have to say that locale is my favorite app so far. I had some trouble with it being inconsistent last week, but now it seems to be running smoothly. I'm saving battery power by having it turn off my WiFi settings while I'm at work, during work hours.

The second best would have to be Bonsai Blast, which is a more complicated and challenging game than I expected.

Wow, this discussion has been very active since its October 2008 inception! I know I keep coming back to learn about new apps and get real user reviews where we can actually get feedback unlike Google Play where you never really know which reviews are legit!
