Hi guys, for some reason I'm having problems updating Google Maps. I have it set to update automatically.. but even manually, I keep getting this Android message:

Error: Insufficient Storage Available

What can I do? I have over 5GB of available SD storage, 53MB of phone storage, and about 50M of RAM left.

Please help.

Apparently that RAM is busy, occupied with other tasks. Try cache cleaning.

Hmm.. I looked at the cache, and I only found 374KB in there? I rarely use Google Maps, so I don't really have much data in there.

1. uninstall all old updates and clear data/cache of Google Maps app.
2. reboot phone.
3. try to reinstall fresh Maps update.

good luck.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, this seemed to fix the problem. I believe it might have erased whatever cache was in there too. I still wish I knew why I was getting that error.

Your RAM holds more caches than just the GMaps one (especially if you don't often use that). They all need to be cleaned/emptied if you want to regain some RAM space.
You can do that with e.g. the free app 'App 2 SD' which also lets you move as many apps as possible to your SDcard.

GMaps and its associated data - which cannot be stored on the SDcard
