This has probably been addressed on here, but I cannot seem to find it at the moment...so here goes ... while using my SGP randomly it'll vibrate for a second than quickly vibrate three times... as it does that the screen goes blank and the phone basically resets its self... any help please let me know Thanks

Have you deleted any system apps?

(Are you rooted?)

ok, if your not rooted, then you definitely didnt delete any system apps.

is this something that you can reproduce?

(i know this phone is painful to use stock, so that in itself could be your probem... lol)

do you have any non-market (3rd party) apps installed?

does it give an error when this happens, or just 3 vibrates then reboot?
(it vibrates in the same pattern when its bootlooping... once, pause, then two more. this signifies things are force closing)

without being rooted the best advice i can give is to do a factory reset and just start over fresh... (or root and install a custom rom :D )

I don't know if this is 'help' per se but my Prevail did the EXACT same thing. Phone was NOT rooted either. At its worst it rebooted three or four times per day at random intervals and during random tasks. There was never a consistent way the errors occurred. So, I did a factory reset and it still happened. I called Samsung and they were stumped. I sent the phone in last week and I will get it back Thursday. The phone was still under warranty. They were FAST and it seems like they just replaced the phone. The online repair ticket said 'component replaced'. I'll get the definitive answer in about 18 hours. :)

Sorry you're having to deal with this but it seems to be a somewhat common occurrence. My bet is that you'll have to send it back in for evaluation.

Ok, so the phone came back from Samsung on Thursday. Total turnaround time was one calendar week. EXCELLENT! Major kudos to Samsung. They had the phone a grand total of 24 hours before fixing and shipping it back. Plus, their communication with the customer is superb. It's the best I've ever seen. They literally stay in touch via email from the minute they receive your item until the the time you get it back.

So, the phone they returned was my original phone with one component replaced. I have no idea what that component was. The packing slip didn't specify.

The phone powered up fine and charged fine. It's behaving normally and all apps loaded, etc. Calls were made, texts, and emails exchanged, etc.

So, time is the factor now. The phone has been activated and operational with no crashes for the past 15 hours.

Please update this thread with your actions and the results!

They probably replaced all the internal hardware and just gave you the original case back.

No telling really. Strange that they didn't tell you what was replaced. I just got mine back from LG and there was a slip in the box. After reading it closely, I noticed where it stated that the motherboard had been replaced.
