The second leak fixes the Google login issue and seems to run a bit smoother ... but if you're happy with the one you've got I wouldn't worry about it, because it's starting to seem more likely that the "official" 2.1 upgrade will start happening in the next couple of weeks.

I really thought the link bug was fixed with the second leak because it was newer.

I've installed both leaks and am very happy with the performance gained with each subsequent update/install. The only noticeable problem I seem to be having is the phone rebooting on its own. I'm not sure if this is due to low memory, as I don't use a task killer, or if its a glitch with the update. Anyways, any help you guys could offer would be very much appreciated and thank you in advance!

Installed 2.1 v 2 leak when it came out, i was annoyed about the signal bar on the top going down to no signal bars. Switched to the stock android Home and i see the full bars all the time. I don't know for sure if its the HTC sense UI thats doing it or not.
On a side note.. i do miss the 7 screens that HTC sense gave, but for the Clock-weather widget I found the Weather Widget app from Android Apps as a good replacement .

No link, but here's what to do:

Put your phone in airplane mode
Plug your phone into your charger
Let it charge a few minutes
Unplug your phone
Take it out of airplane mode
Let it hang out for several minutes
Check to see if your time without a signal is down

Anyone seeing gmail contacts sync trouble on the latest .4 leak?? I'm seeing contacts taking ages to sync and getting the ! error that it will be back soon.

This is the only "fix" I've seen listed...I'm trying it right now

Put your phone in airplane mode
Plug your phone into your charger
Let it charge a few minutes
Unplug your phone
Take it out of airplane mode
Let it hang out for several minutes
Check to see if your time without a signal is down

I don't know if it's just me, but my 50% "time without a signal" bug goes away if I just turn airplane mode on, wait for it to show the icon in the notification bar, and then turn it off again. I never bother with the plugging and unplugging while fixing the bug. I do the fix every time I reboot.

signal bars still unaccurate

time without signal is between 60% and 90% though

there seems to be two options to sync with facebook. the one titled "facebook for HTC sense" works for me, while the other one does nothing that I could determine.

The other Facebook account is for the Facebook app and widget.

Well the airplane mode thing worked for a little bit, now when I do it, it shows extra bars until 3G starts up...then back down to 1 or 2 at most. My wife's Eris (still running 1.5) has 3-4 bars at our house while I have 1 maybe 2...I hope this is something that gets resolved with actual 2.1 update....but that seems to be a WAY off...Verizon is saying the Droid update is going to take a FEW WEEKS! Wow...no telling how long our update will take. However, I think we'll get the same manual update option the Droid users got pretty early on...that's the option I'll choose.

If anyone comes up with a better solution for the interim on the service bars....LET US KNOW!!!! Thanks. :thinking:

Ringer going quiet or silent by itself??

2.1 "phenomenal" leak

Menu > Settings > Sounds & Display > Quiet ring on pickup > Uncheck!

I have the same issue as well. I feel as thought is a miscommunication between the signal strenght and the display. I am still not having any issues making or receiving calls, so it leads me to believe the display is just inaccurate...well i hope so atleast.

yeah at first that's what I thought and it didn't bother me much. The serious battery drain is what does bother me so I'm curious if thats the reason for it

I switched of the HTC sense UI and am using the Android Home for the past 3 days. I see the signal bars went from 1 to all time 4 bars. You can check if this helps with the signal strength display.

I am currently using Home. I just switched over to Sense then back to Home and no difference.

Miss the 7 screens? The newest leak doesn't have 7 screens?

Yes it does have 7 screens, they were talking about running "home" instead of HTC Sense...Home just has ONE screen. 2.1 leak has just as many screens as 1.5
