Just curious what armbands you runners use with this phone? How is the accuracy? My current phone (nexus s) isn't so accurate. I have tried many different running apps but they are all off by about a half mile per 2 miles I run. I am not a very good runner but I have to for my job so keeping track is important to me.

thanks!

I have 2 armbands off ebay. Both work good. I can't compare to your nexus, but my htc incredible (orig) had a VERY accurate gps. This one is just so-so in my opinion.

I use imapmyrun to track running and i love it!

The S3 works pretty good on open sky runs, but jumps around in thick wood coverage. I say so so cause even with open sky runs, it will show that I was running in the middle of the road, then 10 in the ditch, then in the road again, all while I was running along the edge of the road. Still would not be off by 1/2 mile in 2! I think less than 10% loss would be an accurate description.

I'm running with mine in an iFitness neoprene belt and it fits (barely) as long as it's not in any case. On long runs I've used both Endomondo and Runkeeper (on different runs), and for a 10 mile run, they are maybe off by a quarter mile against my Garmin Forerunner 310xt GPS watch that I also use (since it has heart rate and cadence).

Typically my Garmin reads slightly lower than the GPS apps on my phone, but they're never off by more than half a mile. If it's off that much (1/2 mile), it's on distances of 20 or more miles, so I'll take it. :)

Overall it's quite accurate, and I've gone out for 2hr runs streaming Pandora and running Runkeeper, with Latitude updating every 5 minutes (I like my husband to know where I'm at on a long run for safety), and it hangs in there battery-wise. (I'm also running CM10 though, so maybe that's why battery life is a little better).
