Root [Sprint/Cricket] which recovery

make a backup of your current system and give it a shot! you shouldnt lose your current rom by flashing a new recovery. If there ends up being problems with compatibility of rom you can always switch roms or recover your device back to how it is now. let me know how it turns out!

so i installed it nothing really happened i think it worked lol i just wanna know are bothof them working or did twrp overwright clockwork mod

TWRP would have overwritten CWM. The system is only set up to have one recovery at a time. It should not have affected your rom at all. The only thing is that I don't believe CWM nandroids will work with TWRP. It would be best to make a fresh backup and move the others you have plus a copy of the fresh one to a safe place on your pc.

Couldn't have said it any better. You are right. CWM nandroids DON'T work on TWRP (and vice versa) for the S3.

There was a recovery, however, on the OG EVO that did accept CWM and AMON RA nandroids (I believe it was AMON). AMON RA 2.3 was my favorite recovery. :( Sorry for that stroll down memory lane, lol. :D

how would i go back to clockwork mod if i have twrp i tired reinstalling it directly off of twrp but it didnt work

If you have used ODIN before, then I would look here for the .tar files for the different recoveries(including stock).

Another option if you use mskip's Samsung Tool Kit is to flash it through there. You can find it here.
