Help How to turn off H+ and stick to 3g?

ok so I live in the desert (Qatar) which means things don't really work as expected. My mobile data connection is one of them, as it goes slower when it tries to connect with H+ than it does when on 3G. I imagine because my operator Qtel has set something up wrong (i know the phone is ok as also use it in the UK).
Does anyone know how I can limit the phone to only going up to 3G connectivity?

H+ is 10x faster than 3G, so I have no idea why you want to restricts yourself to 3G.

On top of that, you will not be able to do it, because they use the same bands and it cannot be done.

I know H+ should be faster however in Qatar where I am in an area of the city which only has 3G my connection speeds seem to be faster than when I'm on H+. Guess it's something I'll just have to deal with until Qtel sort themselves out. Thanks for the input though guys

Totally correct. However when I am connected gsm I have a "3g" icon in the notification bar, when connected hsdpa I have an "H" icon there. What I presume is being asked is how to switch off the "H" and have the "3g" which would give vastly (10 times slower if I recall correctly) inferior transfer speeds and wouldn't usually be considered desirable if not for his special circumstances. Of course, I suspect that the ability to downgrade network connection to gsm, edge etc may be dependent upon the network provider involved.

NOT POSSIBLE as they use the same technology. You can limit the phone to either 3G (3G, HSDPA, HSPA, HSPA+) or 2G (GPRS, EDGE), but you cannot limit the phone to use 3G only instead of HSPA+

Err.. Ok, I'm even more of an idiot than even I would have believed possible. The icon that comes up is just a "G" not a "3G"
Please accept my humble apologies.
